In other parts of OOo for example functions in calc not translated to Hungarian, the user documents not translated and if somebody use English documents can easyly pick functions. I see no reason to translate functions, SQL commands, etc. in any OOo application. Its up to you to do it, but not worth any effort. And another thing against it in Hungarian we use lot of accented characters and some cause in lot of software trouble with different coding, some times crash whole application or give false results. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=93755 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Oct 31 08:46:28 + 2008 --- The translated commands are only visible in the query design mode. When switching to SQL mode, the words will be translated into English again. This is done by a token ID matching. For this effort the string needs to be parse able which currently isn't the case when a dot is in the name. The reason why to translate all word is history based :-) As the UI the user sees should be as readable as possible. Not everybody reads English. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. No functions are translated in Calc, and no need for translate in any other part of OOo. I think more detail can give András on it, I added him on cc:. He is clearing HU strings on OOo, and making separate translation packs from Sun version, because it is a complete mess for 3.0. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Executing the query in the bug doc attached to issue 93735 is not possible, but yields a syntax error, when done in a Hungarian OpenOffice.org version. fs-oj: I suppose this might have to do with the non-ASCII nature of the translation of SUM: The query contains a SUM( ... ), and we display the localized version, which in Hungarian is clearly non-ASCII, in the UI. Perhaps this is what confuses the designer/parser here ... - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
