The '#' symbol at the end of the lock file is a problem, although it is a quite legal name on all the supported OS. The creation of the lock file seems to work well with our local server, so I assume that the problem is result of webdav server settings that do not allow to create a file with such a file name. mav-gantscha: Sounds similar to a problem that was fixed some times ago. Which exactly build version of OOo3.0 are you using? You can see it using Help/About OpenOffice menu entry ( there should be something like OOO300m7 or DEV300m29 and build number ). Anyway, it should be probably possible to edit documents even if a lock file can not be created. There will be no locking in this case of course. If i open something from the samba share it open in read only mode. If i try to save to this share it refuses with the known not enough rights message. All other programs can save and read fine from this mounted samba share. I tried both ways, opening the webdav location via the url in explorer (open as webdav) and also mapping the webdav location to a drive letter. OOO-3.0rc3 thinks that documents in this location are read-only. Does the webdav server have to be mounted as a drive letter? I'm not able to get that setup on my workstation for some reason. Without using the drive letter, the shared folder is visible via the OO.o dialog, but none of the previously-created files in the folder are visible.
