Since changes to focus handling are prone to invent myriads of subtle (or sometimes not so subtle) problems on various platforms, please check this with a wide range of tests. In id_005.inc there is a testcase tiFormatStylesAndFormatting. Testtools inserts a text, opens the stylist and tries to open context menu without success. Stopping the tool there shows the following behaviour: mouse cannot open context menu , too. Clicking the Office window and then into the stylist makes it work again.
