Whilst the crash can be replicated fairly easily, it does not occur consistently on each attempt to replicate. Also, the crash itself varies in behavior: In the majority of cases no MS crash warning was received, rather Impress simply terminated without warning. Further, the crash report application does not launch on restarting OOo. However Java crash reports are being added to C:\Program Files\OOo-dev 3\program. These describe a fatal error in the Java Runtime Environment (EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION) and state “The crash happened outside the Java Virtual Machine in native code” ***Attachments*** An example Java crash report is attached (hs_err_pid1000.txt). A sample card file are also attached (en ord 1.odp). ***Test Setup*** Installing OpenCards and selecting a card file: a) Download and install OpenCards (Version 1.5.1) per the instructions at: http://opencards.info/index.php/oc-download b) Close and reopen Impress. c) Within Impress select Menu: OpenCards > LongTerm Learning d) At the LongTerm Memorization Manager dialog, right click “All” within the FlashCard Categories tree displayed on the left of the dialog, and select “Add card-set”. e) Navigate to the attached card file (en ord 1.odp) and click the Open button. f) Click the Close button. OpenCards limits the number of cards one can learn each day. By default this limit is set to 30. To make testing easier, change preferences as follows: a) Within Impress select Menu: OpenCards > Preferences. b) Click the Long-Term Learning icon. c) Increase the “Maximal number of new items per day” limit (I used 300). d) Click the OK button. ***Steps to Reproduce*** 1) Within Impress select Menu: OpenCards > LongTerm Learning. 2) Click the Start Learning! button. >>Impress will now display a slide with only the title showing 3) Click the Show Complete Card button. >>Impress will now reveal the rest of the slide content and OpenCards will display a number of buttons: “Perfectly”, “Well”, “So so”, “Hardly” and “Not at all”. 4) Click one of these buttons, e.g. the “Perfectly” button. 5) Repeat steps 3 and 4 until a crash is experienced. If the entire card set is completed prior to a crash, reset the card set: 6) In the LongTerm Memorization Manager dialog, right click on “en ord 1.odp” and select Reset Learn-State, click the Yes button at the resulting dialog. 7) Repeat steps 2 to 5 until a crash is experienced. ***Additional Information*** As noted above, I did not experience this crash consistently. The crash occurred approximately once for every 3 to 4 iterations of the above steps. I conducted a number of additional tests, only one of which seemed to significantly increase the occurrence of crashes: - executing steps 3 and 4 as rapidly as possible, to the point where the slides were lagging behind user input. None of the following affected the frequency of failure: -Use of different buttons at step 4. -Tests with different OpenCard preferences, e.g. “Synchronize selected files before starting long-term memorization”. -Text only card sets vs. card sets with images. -Tests with single vs. multiple card sets. -Test on VBox VM image (XP SP3) with limited memory (192 Mb) and no graphics acceleration. ***Environments*** -Windows XP (SP3), Core 2 Duo, 3.48Gb RAM -VBox VM, XP (SP3), 192Mb Ram - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. One of the functions of OC is longterm learning. OpenOffice hangs if I do the following: 1. Double-click on a flashcard set in a folder. This starts OpenOffice and displays the first flashcard. 2. Select OpenCards->Longterm Learning 3. Set the card category to point to the card sets (I have created 7). 4. Select one of the cardsets and press the Start Learning! button. 5. Press the "Perfectly" button a few times. 6.
