The Ubuntu (Linux) 3.3.0 build of Libreoffice from here ( https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ppa ) has two bugs in Impress that are relevant to this issue. Bug 1) Can't insert media into a slide (Apparently an Ubuntu/Debian 10.04 issue), and there is a current workaround. Not OO.org's issue ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/660807/comments/9 ) Bug 2) The sound echo bug is still in LO and has been confirmed. It may be because the video on the presenter-console and the presentation screen are out of sync. I'm using opensource drivers (ATI/Radeon). Maybe on linux boxes with FGLRX and nVIDIA, or Windows with proprietary drivers there's no lag in video, so no detectable double sound? Unfortunately, I can't use FGLRX (card is two years old). A total disaster. 1) Crashes display. 2) When not crashing display, won't play any media AT ALL - no codecs. 3) Cannot insert video file 4) Tried old ODP file with a AVI file, just grey square. Update Links grey out - can't fix. So,...can't say. presenter-console 1.1.0 won't install with OO 3.2.0 (Ubuntu) so I can't tell you. I think I've buggered my OO install with the vanilla OO 3.3 experiment. I can tell you that LO 3.3 with the presenter console causes a major sound issue. It was supposed to be fixed in OO 3.3. It is not. When using Impress and an external monitor with the presenter console installed, displaying an embedded sound object (like a movie) causes sound to come from BOTH the display image/slide AND the preview (presenter-console) slide. Creates a horrible echo, rendering the presenter-console unusable. This is a SHOWSTOPPER bug for anyone in the professional arena, teaching, presenting. Please, please, please, please fix the extension. I have already filed this issue for OO 3.2 and was told it was fixed upstream in 00 3.3 and that's why it wouldn't be dealt with in OO 3.2.
