2008 ---
Whether or not the 'insert slide' menu entry works depends on whether the
SID_INSERTPAGE slot is supported.  This is always the case when the slide sorter
bar is active (even when the center pane shows the notes view).  The edit view
does, too, but neither notes view nor handout view do.

Fixed by hiding the 'insert slide' menu entry when the SID_INSERTPAGE slot is
not supported, i.e. when the center pane shows the notes or the handout view.

Inserting new pages could probably be supported for the notes view as well. 
Maybe for a later release.

2007 ---
Open a new Impress document, and then switch to Notes view or Handout view.
Right_click one of the layouts, we can find the shortcut menu, but if we choose
the Insert Slide, there isn't any difference in this document. It seems that
this function is redundant. Even the two options of shortcut menu when in Notes
view does not function at all.
