There is no debug version of vcredist files. 2. There are three different versions of vcredist: vcredist_x64.exe, vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_IA64.exe. The latter has nearly 10 MB. 3. Using CustomActions in the OpenOffice.org msi database does not work in InstallExecuteSequence, because Windows Installer technique is used for vcredist files. Therefore it has to be started in InstallUISequence, like the JRE installation. This is important for the msvc runtime libraries, that are included into OpenOffice.org. After integration of the merge module, OpenOffice.org or any other application, that includes these libraries, is responsible for the patch process and MS cannot influence this. Therefore MS no longer delivers msm files, but redistributable executables. It needs to be ensured that vcredist.exe would also install the correct set of runtime lib. (scp2/source/ooo/vc_redist.scp already includes such a vcredist.exe, used only under rather narrow circumstances, which according to dv most probably does not take care to work on the correct set of runtime libs in a non-pro build.
