First manually choose a column by selecting for example a2 to a10, right click 
on the selection to change cell format, then choose "Text to columns" from Data 
menu, you will find the window indicates you only selected 1 cell but in fact 
you have more than 1 cell highlighted.  You have to highlight again if you want 
to use these two functions in sequence.
