I can get functionality from the default styles on a new document, however, it will not work on my usual docs from my custom templates. I have created new templates and it has resolved the problem, however, I am none the wiser as to why it would not work. Thank you for your help. I was able to paste the Outline into a different document after using the send outline to Clipboard command. could you please check, if the settings in Tools.Outline are correct in your sample document. Maybe the setting do not get loaded correctly in OO 2.3 and 2.3.1. If so, please attach one of the documents showing the problem to this issue.
