This window appears if the mailmerge is directed to a single file but no window if you send the result of mailmerge to a printer. When you click Ok after choosing the printer ... the focus is going back to the form letter document while mailmerge is running in background so there is no indication of mailmerge progression Really annoying if you've hundreds of adresses to merge... On winxp, the task manager has a csrss.exe process which seems to depict the merging process...
