Ivo, please take over as discussed and check whether we could somehow integrate
the counting into the build of instsetoo_native or another feasible solution.
Thx

Hi Frank,

please have a look at this issue and check whether there is a way - with
acceptable effort - that we can help the PMs here. The current handling is that
the PMs have to rely on the developers doing a cwslocalize on their CWS, so that
a wordcount is being done and its results added to the EIS database.
Unfortunately though, this does not always happen and many developers simply
forget this step.

From an earlier discussion with Martin I do remember that his idea was that
through an additional menu/button inside the EIS application the PM can trigger
the count himself. Unfortunately this would, at the current state, mean that the
webserver running the EIS application would have to check out the CWS and then
run a cwslocalize - but this solution is not feasible and therefore out of
scope.

Perhaps you can find a way that we can automatically trigger cwslocalize on
active CWS or perhaps you might discuss with Ivo a way that cwslocalize might
get called automatically during a build or whatever. Something where the effort
is lower than with the above heavy-weight solution and which leads to (almost)
the same results,

Thanks

Current state for this issue is:
It exists a policy that every developer has to run cwsloc., additionally EIS
gives the developer a hint/message when changing the status to 'ready for QA' to
run the script.

I've discussed this issue also with Ivo, main problem is to find a server for
checking out the cws and the related milestone to run the script plus the effort
to implement a stable solution. After the migration to subversion it's may be
easier to do so. But best way is to run the script directly on the cws initiated
by the developer. Another solution could be a rule, that EIS checks the
run-status of these script (this information is currently available without any
effort - very low hanging fruit) and avoid a status-change if it wasn't run
before.

Any other suggestions?

it would be useful to be able to check before nomination for new or changed
strings.
