Thanks to you, I finally got success.  /bkp1 is in fact a tld, which of 
course is not listed in /etc/fstab.  

Here's the output of the success!

 These dumps were to tape northnet01.
 The next tape Amanda expects to use is: a new tape.

   planner: Adding new disk localhost:/tmp.

FYI, you should not use localhost in your disklist file.  Trust me.
It will eventually bite you.  Use the fully qualified name of your host.
