j I haven't experienced this personally, although I hardly ever use tabs.

Yep, I have posted this and related enforcer hits before.

If you run enforcer, you at least won't crash... (Though, that's not a
real solution to the problem).

I thought you could just /join #channel + in the window you wanted the new
channel to open in, but it doesn't work.

I know you can do /query Nick + in an existing nick query window and it will
open the second query window in the existing one.

Seems like /join #channel + would be a GREAT idea...

Or let your target an existing window if you have several open:

/join #channel +1 (to move to window 1)

[amirc] Re: Amirc 3.5 +

2001-04-16 Thread hockeynut

Hmmm... well, let me see. If I unpack to run in Ram: The damn
thing runs. If I move or install it, I get nothing. Beats the
hell out of me.

Lastly, the reason I want to use it ? Its the best IRC client,
right ? :)

  Hello Folks,

I'm slightly off the beaten track, so forgive me.

I sold off my amiga, and purchased AmigaForever4.
I backed up and wiped my amiga before I split it up and sold
it.

However, I've tried to restore the Amirc 3.5 (and I've tried
the Beta's
too) but sadly I get nothing.

On double clicking on the Icon, it says ''attempting to
start program
  AMIRC''
  Then nothing.

I've tried removing my keyfile, putting the keyfile in S and
also I`ve
attempted to place in the program dir to no avail.

Has anyone got Amirc 3.5 upwards to work on WinUAE ???

Well thats odd.. but it can't be AmIRC's fault
AmIRC would load without a keyfile in Demo mode, and it would
at least bring
up a req. saying you need a key if you loaded a public beta.

Well all I can say is that it has to be a winUAE error.
AmIRC was coded for Amiga, not a silly windows program

How you mean /join #channel+ ? becouse you'd have to have something
that can't be used in channel names and not something after space,
since that whould be interprited as a keyword.

but it would be good imho.

[amirc] AmIRC update

2001-04-16 Thread Mariusz Danilewicz

*/Hello!!!/*

That what I remember new version of AmIRC is planned in near future.
But I've got one question about it. That update for .catalog files
also planned? I'm member of Polish section of ATO and when works with
my last translation I changed some things by this year, and also
notice that author adds new strings to it. So if it possible I want to
add new version of Polish .catalog file with new version of AmIRC.

Regards

/mANDI/

Surely David already told you the answer - don't use the Windows FAT, make sure you're
running AmIRC from an Amiga partition that's using a WinUAE hardfile. There are a
number of things that will only work properly if you do. Apparently AmIRC is one of
them. That's why you can get it running from RAM: - because that's just another native
Amiga filesystem...
