[amsat-bb] Re: ARISSat-1 voice telemetry 00:27z 8/21/11
Hi Greg, That sounds like a great project for a telemetry Sherlock! 73, Tony AA2TX --- On 8/23/2011 12:18 AM, Greg D. wrote: Ah, interesting. So, values around +/- 0 mean that the battery is (or thinks it is) fully charged, and the satellite is running on just the solar panels. Since that happens pretty quickly after start-up (low MET values), that certainly supports the conclusion that the battery has nearly zero capacity left in it. But if it's fully charged, there must be something else going on, because I've heard passes where the satellite appears to be in high power mode - several voice, SSTV, and telemetry segments back-to-back - then suddenly turns off after one of the segments. This is where the reported battery voltage has remained in the mid- to high-35 volts range, consistent with high power operation. Did the satellite happen to spin to a less favorable angle for a moment between telemetry readings, causing the low power mode threshold to trip? Hi Cris There is an additional benefit with Fibreglass tube. Just use the wood inserts on the clamping areas, rotator and antenna clamps. Then the tube will flex in high winds and absorb some wind enegy. 73 John G7HIA From: Howard Long how...@howardlong.com To: Chris Bloy ch...@photofuture.co.uk Cc: Amsat - BBs amsat-bb@AMSAT.Org Sent: Tuesday, 23 August, 2011 8:24:38 Subject: [amsat-bb] Re: Fibreglass tube for G5500? [amsat-bb] Re: THD 72 HT
I am sure I am not the only one that gave you the same advice, use the A side VFO to RX and the B VFO to TX. Unfortunately you cannot program cross band odd splits on the TH-D72, but it only adds one extra memory per sat. The downside is, is that you have to switch between VFO's to change the RX freq to adjust for doppler and switch the the other VFO to TX again, it can be simplified somewhat with the use of the SMC-33 speaker/mic with programmable buttons. It is a very nice HT to have On Tue, Aug 23, 2011 at 5:54 PM, wa4...@comcast.net wrote: Thanks to all that send me info on the Kenwood THD72.This link works http://www.amsat.org/amsat/archive/amsat-bb/200901/msg13011.html Thanks again WA4HFN Damon ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org.
