[amsat-bb] Neil Armstrong
From CBS News' Bill Harwood 03:20 PM EDT, 08/25/12 ADVISORY: Neil Armstrong, first man on moon, dies at 82 By WILLIAM HARWOOD CBS News Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon and an enduring icon of the space age and America's greatest technological triumph, died Saturday, multiple sources said. He was 82. We are heartbroken to share the news that Neil Armstrong has passed away following complications resulting from cardiovascular procedures, he family said in a statement (http://www.neilarmstronginfo.com). Neil was our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Neil Armstrong was also a reluctant American hero who always believed he was just doing his job. He served his Nation proudly, as a navy fighter pilot, test pilot, and astronaut. He also found success back home in his native Ohio in business and academia, and became a community leader in Cincinnati. He remained an advocate of aviation and exploration throughout his life and never lost his boyhood wonder of these pursuits. As much as Neil cherished his privacy, he always appreciated the expressions of good will from people around the world and from all walks of life. While we mourn the loss of a very good man, we also celebrate his remarkable life and hope that it serves as an example to young people around the world to work hard to make their dreams come true, to be willing to explore and push the limits, and to selflessly serve a cause greater than themselves. For those who may ask what they can do to honor Neil, we have a simple request. Honor his example of service, accomplishment and modesty, and the next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink. 73, Jeff WB2SYK ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. Maybe you guys could fashion it after that format and see how it goes. Take a listen today...N4PZ is net control but passes it around to other guys with better coverage in different directions. 73, Jeff WB2SYK FN13 --- On Sat, 1/29/11, wa4...@comcast.net wa4...@comcast.net wrote: From: wa4...@comcast.net wa4...@comcast.net Subject: [amsat-bb] HF satellite group To: AMSAT amsat-bb@amsat.org Date: Saturday, January 29, 2011, 9:13 PM Well first attempt at a 40 meter gathering wasnt a complete failer. Talked to WC7V in MT from Memphis and K7TRK was weak but there. Im open for comments and suggestions on starting an HF Amsat group. I think it would be good for all to be able to discuss things of intrest. Would we need a net control , open of round table and best utc times and frequency.Who knows we may be able to get FM operators to be a little more polite. Like the others said, I just usually wait till it comes around the bb as I believe Alan posts it here before he posts it to camsat. 73! The website at www.camsat.cn appears to host malware. Tried with Chrome browser, same result. What's up? If the CAMSAT site is indeed infected, is there another site to get the HO-68 schedule? 73, Bill NZ5N ___ Sent via amsat...@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author. If you are the KP1 station that worked WB2SYK on the above VO-52 pass over Eastern NA this morning, could you please drop me an email? I copied down your call as KP1PVH but you don't appear in QRZ for my logging program. I may have copied down your call incorrectly.
