[android-developers] Getting banned from user generated content?

Hi all, we are developing an app where users will be able to upload their 
own photos. This obviously poses a risk for people to upload nudity. We 
will have a report function where we will delete any nude photos asap, but 
how does it work? Can our app get removed due to user generated content? If 
so, what about all the apps that do allow user generated content, such as 
Twitter and dating apps, they must face this problem too.

[android-developers] KitKat x86 (API 19 / 4.4.4) not working in Android Studio 2.0 emulator

Hey there, I'm not able to get *KitKat x86 *working on AVD emulator in 
Android Studio 2.0. Is there a known problem? It's stuck on Android boot 
screen, and in logcat it's an infinite loop of NPEs.. also, /system and 
/data mounts are stuck in read-only. 

With all of the same VM settings (memory, capacity, etc.) Jellybean x86 API 
18 works. So does Lollipop x86 API 21. Also, KitKat ARM (armeabi) seems to 
work.

Here's a gist of my logcat 
(https://gist.github.com/mansilladev/a4b29d7f84d4009aa70e3b975ac1f9a7) -- 
it's about 350K long (maybe first 20 seconds of boot). Lastly, I've let it 
run for 20+ minutes, and it's in the same state.

Favor: 
If you've got Android Studio 2.0 installed, would you mind spinning up the 
KitKat x86 to see if you can get it to work -- that would be swell.

[android-developers] SD Card Error after resetting my smartphone

Hello all,

for a long time there was on my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S3) an error and 
my smartphone received no updates and Google Play operated not very well 
(while downloading an app from Google Play, the Google Play app crashed and 
I was forced to download .apk files from the web). Before I resetted my 
smartphone, I decrypted my SD card, my smartphone and I moved all my files 
on THAT SD card. After I was done and resetted my smartphone Google Play 
worked well and I received updates for my smartphone. I encrypted my SD 
Card and my smartphone because I dont want that NSA or shady companies 
reading my files. But... One day later an another error appeared. My 
smartphone informed me, that there was a SD card error and I realised that 
my smartphone was trying to fix the issue. My phone was later ringing and I 
was wondered, because my smartphone played a different ringtone. I checked 
my prefferences and the options and I saw, that the most of my sound 
tracks, images etc. on my SD card were all gone! And the most of my folders 
have now weird names like "μUSIC" (music) or "μICTURES" (pictures). Not all 
my files on my sd card are unvisible. After that I decrypted my SD card and 
the problem is still there. I realised,  that the missing files are not 
erased, that means they are still on the SD card, but they are unvisible on 
my pc and on my smartphone.
I called today some engineer guy and he told me I've to pay 1000 Euros (or 
more) first and I was schocked! The reasons for the high prise is an 
encryption error. So... you can guess how sad I am.
I want to fix the problem by myself and I need your help. Please help me!

[android-developers] 500 Errors for Refunding Google Play Purchases - Info Needed

Hi,

I'm working on a rails CRM app that supports an Android app that sells 
recurring subscriptions.

In the CRM app, we want to have the option to cancel or refund accounts. 
We're using the Google API Ruby Client to handle these calls 
(https://github.com/google/google-api-ruby-client).

We have implemented the cancel subscription and revoke subscription methods 
via the API and they both work fine, but when we try to send a request to 
the refund subscription endpoint, it always returns a 500 server error. 
There is no helpful description that comes with this error. 

This is what is returned every time:

Caught error Server error
Error - #

We can attempt retries when this fails, but it fails every time. We are 
sending over the same params that the other API methods require - package 
name, product id and purchase token. Is this a problem on Google's end? A 
problem with the API? Something else?

I'm not able to connect my HTC 802w properly to adb. I tried different HTC 
drivers (4.10, 4.13, 4.16), I have latest platform-tools, but still have 
strace adb output.

You probably also need to set the Display Sleep time in Android Settings as
