Do you have ICS 4.0.4 as there were some camera performance updates in there. Its the nature of the industry to be secretive with upcoming updates, nobody will jump ship because the competition are the same or worse. Also bear in mind a team of 30 or a 100 developers cannot respond to millions of customers little nags. Finally your complaint is about 1 app being slow on a specific phone using a specific app it could be the phone or app development teams with the issue or the OS on that specific phone or app and not the OS as a whole. What did you search for maybe one of us can find it? Try searching for pname:your full package name If you limited the apps region and you phone is from a different area it won't show. Acer Liquid should be and1.6 if your application uses a higher sdk then 5 it won't show. If your phone is rooted and you selected use copy protection is also shouldn't show. To answer your signing question, yes it needs to be signed and you can sign the apps yourself and it doesn't cost your anything. :-) I believe the newest add-on does it in eclipse but this tutorial worked for me and still works now: http://www.anddev.org/signing_your_apk-application_for_release_keytooljarsigner-t3069.html you will need JDK not JRE on your machine as some of the exe's are not present on the JRE. hope this helps. Thankyou, I used the image content provider first which loaded a
question mark as a picture but proved unstable.
I finally found the function I was looking for in case anyone else has
the same problem, although I have to warn you it does the exact thing
Google was trying to prevent. (Gives the browser access to the file
system again which can have security implications.)

I overlooked public ParcelFileDescriptor openFile while searching
before in the content provider api, and still couldn't find
tutorials.. but the above code should serve any files within the apps
files folder to the browser the rest of the code for the
contentProvider doesn't seem necessary when surving files which is a
little confusing.
