[android-developers] Android Studio Firebase Plugin-Login issue

[Suhayl SH]

While connecting to Firebase using the studio plugin, I logged into a 
different firebase account.
Everytime, I try adding a Firebase component to my app, the connection 
fails as it tries to find the firebase project in the account I incorrectly 
logged in. 
Is there a way to logout and relogin to Firebase from the Android Studio 
plugin?

[android-developers] MediaPlayer Prepare failed: status=0x1

Hi Android geeks.

I am having a practice writing a little audio player. The app connect
to http server to download mp3 files(not audio streaming). After
downloading, it player the file using mediaplayer.  But I tried to
play it, error like title happens. Below is some pieces  of my code:

I can see the audio file in the file explorer, which is normal audio
file. But when I try to play the file, the error occurs. In the API
documentation, setDataSource(String path) accepts file path of a file
as parameter. I don't know what the problem is. Please help me...

After researching, I implemented the function by myself using tracking
the repeat mode.

I started this thread just after the mediaplayer prepared in the event
listener. I think that there is better way to do that, but it works
well.

 It's been a couple months since I was working on something similar, but
 your options would likely be something along the lines of either
 piggybacking off of the progress bar updates (if possible) or using a
 thread to poll the position of the player.  When either of those methods
 indicates you are at or past your end point, seek to the desired start
 point again.

 Unfortunately, I'm not aware of a play until interface.

I would like to implement audio file player using MediaPlayer. I wanna
have multi-speed plack. I can't find API about multi speed playback.
SoundPool class has that, but I won't use it. Audio players I have
downloaded from the market have multi-speed playback. So I think that
there is some way to support multi-speed playback. Is there any idea I
can refer?

Device: Samsung Galaxy 2

I have been working an app written in native android and I put an
Activity for setting using Sencha Touch 1.1 + Phonegap 1.3. So when I
click a button on a activity , I call startActivityForResult() to run
the setting activity. But, when I rotate my mobile,  the activity
finished suddenly. It happens whenever I rotate the screen. I have

[android-developers] How can I control app selection dialog?

Hi fellows.

I am a new to Android world and I am researching a lot these days. I
am developing an app for the disabled, so it has text-speech function.
An dialog screen populates let the user select text-speech app
installed when it starts. This annoys the users with less abilities,
even normal persons. So I want to shut down the dialog and set a
specific app default. How it can be done? Please give me any idea or
clue something like that?

[android-developers] Event method in XML

Hi.

I am a new to Android. I have seen many codes which assign click event
listeners to views in Activity at runtime, not in XML. As you know,
you can set click event listeners within XML, but almost sample codes
do it using Java code. Is this wrong way? Does it have any advantage
or disadvantage?

I have an app and fixing errors/bugs. But I have problem when
NewPictureNote.java calls PhotoTaker.java using
startActivityForResult() to take a photo and save. My code uses
callback and put binary data into Intent to return to previous

When I debug code, clickHandler() method in  PhotoTaker.java works
well. It calls till the end of the clickHanlder() but the Activity
won't close and onActivityResult() does not work. Please let me know
what problem is? Thanks in advance.

[android-developers] What event is the best for changing preference

[SH]

Hi, all.

I am a beginner at Android programming. I am trying to add preference
screen to the previous app to change wallpaper of the app and another
thing. I am using finish() method to change wallpaper after user set
the preferences. I think this is not the best event to do it. Which is
the best event to do that?

[android-developers] MonkeyImage sameAs API issue

I downloaded latest android SDK package (android-sdk_r12-windows.zip)
from website, when I used sameAs API in MonkeyImage object to
compare two Android pictures, please refer to below code:

from com.android.monkeyrunner import MonkeyRunner, MonkeyDevice,
MonkeyImage
Pic1=MonkeyRunner.loadImageFromFile(path=./111.png')
Pic2=MonkeyRunner.loadImageFromFile(path='./222.png')
Pic2.sameAs(Pic1, 1.0)

The image comparision always failed and below message reported:

I can verify that the PC image files are loaded successfully to
MonkeyImage object Pic1 and Pic2, because I can check it by
writeToFile API.
