[android-developers] How do we get location details (Addresslines) in English?

2016-05-27 Thread Wu Shan
Hi, all,
  I searched on the internet for solutions to this kind of problem, but I
failed to find the solution.
What I am originally trying to achieve is get the 2-letter country code
from latitude and longitude, and then I have this problem

.
Trying to get work around this issue, I decide to parse the addresslines in
the Address which I got from Geocoder(addresslines like:
"Niger(NE)_Agadez"),
so I can still get the 2-letter country code happily... and no luck...
because I have issues like this

.

  I can't find any good solution for this kind of problem...because it
simple return the address with local locale, something like the followings:

[addressLines=[0:"北京市朝阳区太阳宫南街7号院",1:"国展新座",2:"土星园",3:"世纪华联超市0911分店",4:"太阳宫南街7号院",5:"圣馨家园",6:"丰和园",7:"火星园",8:"悠然棋牌室",9:"译夫宾馆",10:"朝阳区太阳宫地区办事处"],feature=null,admin=北京市,sub-admin=null,locality=北京市,thoroughfare=太阳宫南街,postalCode=null,countryCode=131,countryName=中国,hasLatitude=true,latitude=39.97934128362307,hasLongitude=true,longitude=116.44797454549584,phone=null,url=null,extras=null]

  I still can't get the country code...Could anyone please tell me how to
solve problems like this ?

   Many Thanks,

[android-developers] why zygote process name change to main in Lollipop, Is it a bug?

2015-01-03 Thread perry shan
hi,

I notice that the zygote process name change to main Lollipop , but in
KitKat and before, the zygote process name is zygote.

in Lollipop:

$ adb shell ps | grep -i zygote

root  376   1 1492064 67316   S zygote

$ adb shell cat /proc/376/stat

376 (main) R 1 376 0 0 -1 4194560 170602 262860 825 248 283 137 226 174 20
0 1 0 637 1522405376 16861 4294967295 1 1 0 0 0 0 4612 0 103672 4294967295
0 0 17 3 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

$ adb shell cat /proc/376/comm

main

in KitKat:

$ adb shell ps | grep -i zygote

root  329   1 867640 64860   S zygote

$ adb shell cat /proc/329/stat

329 (zygote) S 1 329 0 0 -1 1077936384 106227 3303200 682 1688 618 798

103672 4294967295 0 0 17 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

$ adb shell cat /proc/329/comm

zygote

In app_main.cpp when start zygote, it will set nicename, and set the
process name with niceName.

frameworks/base/cmds/app_process/app_main.cpp

int main(int argc, char* const argv[])

...

if (strcmp(arg, --zygote) == 0) {

zygote = true;

niceName = ZYGOTE_NICE_NAME;

...

if (!niceName.isEmpty()) {

runtime.setArgv0(niceName.string());

set_process_name(niceName.string());

}

but in new AndroidRuntime ART, the will change the name zygote to main

if (zygote) {

runtime.start(com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit, args);

[android-developers] How can I unarchive an archived webpage in Android?

2013-04-30 Thread STAN SHAN

I asked a similar
questionhttp://stackoverflow.com/questions/14364501/how-can-i-load-an-archived-webpage-properly-in-android
 before.

Apparently, we could load the archived file by using the third party class
WebArchiveReader.

However, the problem is that I also want to Email the webpage and let the
user read it directly. I called *webView.saveWebArchive(path)*, and saved a
webpage on my disk, but I can't open it by any application.

Let's say I have a webpage showing a PDF file. Is there a way to unarchive
the file which is generated by calling webView.saveWebArchive, and send it
as an attachment via Email?

If not, is there an alternative way to save web page to local storage
without Archiving?

I am just curious that why GOOGLE make an API method to archive something
but do not bother to make another one to unarchive it? What is the point of
saveWebArchive anyway?

Re: [android-developers] How to change the Blue Line below Title in AlertDialog.

2012-09-11 Thread Shan Ul Haq
thats the point .. if i want to create my own view then i would'nt care for
customizing the AlertDialog theme. i will just create my own alert dialog.
I dont want to create my own view. i just want to change the blue line of
the current alert dialog. If Android Platform does not provides this
functionality and blue line is Hardcoded in the Alert dialog then they
should change it.

Hi,

I want to develop a application for video conference call base on

I've tried to record the video with android.net.LocalSocket, but it
didn't work yet.
And I heard that there will be some delay when get the stream from
recorder because there is some buffer in the recorder.

So can you tell me whether it's feasible? And is there any demo for
it?

Thank you very much.

[android-developers] Layout problem related to RelativeView and ListView

2011-12-01 Thread Ren Wen shan
Hi,

I'm trying to make a layout that contains a List and a button.
To make the button on the bottom, I'm using

 android:layout_alignParentBottom=true
 android:gravity=center|bottom

in a RelativeView

It works fine when the list is short, however, once the length of the list
beyond the screen's length, the list will be hided by the button (as the
attachment shows).

What I want are:
1. Keep the button on bottom
2. Keep the list above the button
3. Use relative position to keep the program's flexibility

Could you give some suggestions?

[android-developers] Re: Using the Emulator with a Proxy - 0.9 Beta SDK Windows Eclipse 3.4

2008-08-22 Thread shan

Hi Bob,
I got the browser up. If you have any other versions of the sdk/
emulator on your system, erase them and then unzip the new sdk. And
provide the proxy as proxy:port only. Do not use the http://, it
throws a NumberFormatException.
The -http-proxy startup option did'nt work but the workaround
did(using the system table insertion).

 Has anyone got this working? Seems like such a basic thing, I

[android-developers] Re: -http-proxy problems

2008-08-22 Thread shan

Thanks Andyn, got the browser up. Seems like a problem related with
multiple SDKs on the same machine messing with the proxy.
Refer :
http://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/browse_thread/thread/5bf421494daf6784/cfcc4ad406134b14#cfcc4ad406134b14

If you know/find a reason please update.

On Aug 21, 5:21 pm, shan [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
 I think the same, but I got a workaround.
 - Using the ddms - file explorer we pull out the settings.db file
 - Use SQLite Manager to modify the system table ie. insert the
 http_proxy field
 - Pull the file from the machine into the device as earlier
 - restart the emulator

 This successfully inserted the http_proxy field in the system table
 but the browser is stuck now(seems like a different problem).

  Use adb pull (or the equivalent IDE action) to download your SQLite
  database to your development machine. Then use any SQLite client you
  want (sqlite3 console app, SQLite Manager Firefox extension, etc.). If
  you make changes you want reflected on the phone, use adb push (or the
  equivalent IDE action) to put the database back on the phone.

[android-developers] Re: maps behind proxy 0.9 beta

2008-08-22 Thread shan

Hi Jokochi

I am using a Windows machine, do i need to setup something to execute
the script?
Also my proxy port no is 8080, i could make out that you were routing
to 8080 but mine already runs on the same.
I tried to execute it on IE7 but it returned an open-save dialog which
keeps looping.
I got the browser up but the maps won't respond.
Thanks for the script.

Any solutions.

Were you able to display the maps?

 Hi Shan,

 I am sorry I did not test with windows so I can not answer you so far.
 But at least your PC has to be installed PHP5.

 Regarding port no, only if your site proxy is the same PC which runs
 emurator, you have to change the port no.
 In my example mentioned before, it is running the PHP script and
 emulator on local pc (xxx.yyy.com).
 The connection is like this
  emulator (xxx.yyy.com:???) - php script (xxx.yyy.com:8080) - proxy
 (aaa.bbb.com:8000) - (Google?)
 Of course you can change the local port and run script on the
 different PC.

 Ahh, I found a bug in my code.
 Please fix this line;
 wrong:
 if (isset($argv[2])  (preg_match(^\d+$, $argv[2])))
 correct:
 if (isset($argv[2])  (preg_match(/^\d+$/, $argv[2])))

 Thank you.

Same here. The -http-proxy startup does'nt work, I checked the system

I am still looking into this trying to check for proxy issues.

[android-developers] Re: maps behind proxy 0.9 beta

2008-08-20 Thread shan

No the browser is not working till now, the -http-proxy startup option
does'nt seem to work(for the 0.9).

But in the m5r15 i could get the browser to work via the http_proxy
field in the system table, but the maps application could not connect
to the server. I think that it uses a config totally different from
the standard ones, to which we dont have access.

I am guessing that the situation would be same in 0.9 as well. Only
hope being that the maps API would recognise the http-proxy option.
