Re: [android-developers] ADT Plugin Installation

2012-09-03 Thread Kostya Vasilyev
Have you tried turning off contact all software sources in the Eclipse
install / update dialog?

2012/9/1 Ryan Kelso deathmat...@gmail.com

I am currently beginning a course on Android Application Development at my
local community college, and have setup Eclipse with the ADT Plugin on my
laptop (running Ubuntu Linux 12.04) with no problems. I am now attempting
to set it up on my Windows 7 desktop and am having issues installing the
ADT Plugin. I went to the Eclipse website but was referred back to here.
The problem: When I do Install New Software and use https://
dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ it will begin, hit 26% then after a
period of time go to 49%, but after having waited over 25minutes with no
change I eventually cancel and try again. After having done this a number
of times I finally resolved to post here for a solution. I have tried
making program exceptions in the firewall, gone into the DMZ to try getting
things running, turning off my firewall, using HTTP instead of HTTPS.
Nothing changes. Any ideas? Using Eclipse 4.2 Juno, Windows 7 64-bit.

Re: [android-developers] ADT Plugin Installation

2012-09-03 Thread Ryan Kelso
My Ubuntu environment is on a laptop, as stated before, and the emulator
runs quite sluggishly, takes 5 minutes to even start up. It's quite the bad
development form for school work. (Although I am seriously thinking about
dual-booting Ubuntu on my PC, thus overcoming the problem).

Yes, I have tried turning off contact all software sources and it gives
me an error saying I am missing some key piece of software something or
other.. However, I just tried to install it and it all of a sudden worked.
Do not know why, maybe because of a computer reboot since last trying.

Thanks for all the help everyone.

bother with windows?

Yeah, don't bother with Windows, stick with development on Ubuntu. It'll
run a lot easier with less hacks.

[android-developers] ADT plugin installation sticks at 49% at Eclipse Classic 3.6

2010-12-21 Thread sanniv
Hi,

Today I was doing fresh install of Android on Eclipse Classic 3.6, and
I am surprise that it always sticks at 49% after many attempts, then I
tried to go into detail, which shows following link where it sticks:

http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?format=xmlfile=/releases/helios/201006230900/aggregate/protocol=httpcountryCode=ustimeZone=5format=xml

And at this link it says no file available, I am not sure why ADT
installation is looking for this file which is not available, but due
to that Android is not being added on Eclipse...

Please help me out in this..

Thanks and Best Wishes,
Sanniv.

[android-developers] ADT Plugin Installation Waiting Too Long

2010-02-09 Thread Leonard Lee
Hi,

I'm following the guide at the following link.
http://developer.android.com/sdk/eclipse-adt.html#InstallingADT

I'm using the offline installer by using the guide at the following
link. http://developer.android.com/sdk/eclipse-adt.html#troubleshooting

I'm using Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers 3.5 (Galileo) on Windows
XP.

The installation was stuck at 5% install phase. Please advice.

Thanks in advance.
