[android-developers] Android Power Management

2016-08-28 Thread nisarg prajapati
Hi All,

I have few question regarding Android OS and its Power Management System.

Below are the list of questions

Questions:-
1) What is Android Power Management?
2) How Android Power Management differ from the Linux Power Management?
3) Is there any source-code difference b/w Android Kernel and Linux Kernel?
What are the changes Google made in Kernel for Android Power Management?
4) Android maintain its own git branch for Kernel Code and it is different
from the Linux mainline Kernel Code branch; What is the reason behind this
different kernel maintenance?

   Andoid Kernal Source Link:-
 https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/common/
Linux Mainline Kernal Source Link:- https://www.kernel.org

5) Please provide me all the details regarding changes/patch made by Google
for Android OS?

Please do needful on these.

Thanks,
Nisarg Prajapati

[android-developers] Android Power Management

2009-05-14 Thread Prashant Bhujang
Dear All,

Android has provided Power management framework for saving batterlife. But this
is limited to screen/key lights. I am exploring ways to enhance this scheme for
other use cases like camera, media playback by changing CPU frequency. I would
like to know what support is available for this from Android kernel.

Regards

[android-developers] Android power management

2008-07-14 Thread Yuchih

I have recently seen the Google I/O session: Anatomy Physiology of
an Android.
Patrick Brady mentioned power management in Android, and I am highly
interested in it.

But I have a question that what is more aggressive power management
policy?
What is the different between the Android and Linux default one?
Does that mean if I don't use partial/full weak lock, even the CPU is
running, Android will also put the CPU to lower frequency then to idle
state?
Does the current kernel patch have the behavior to do that?

I need some detail information about it.
Hope somebody could help me.
Thanks very much!

Best Regards,
Yuchih
