More than likely your G1 upgraded to 1.6 quite some time ago (some time last
summer I think). The latest update was not a firmware upgrade, it was a
patch to fix issues with the phone apparently. Do a google search for "G1
update" or something and you'll find what I did about this latest release.

Nope. I have the default email app using two IMAP accounts and they're both
working fine for me.

[android-developers] G1 Upgrade to 1.6???

Somewhat off topic since it isn't development per se, but this group
is most knowledgeable on Android.

Yesterday my G1 upgraded to version 1.6. Now I am pretty sure that it
did this last fall when the official release occurred.

Did anyone else see this upgrade?

I may be having problems with my regular email now. I use IMAP and it
is having a very hard time retrieving messages. I keep getting
"Connection errror" messages.

Anyone else seeing this?
