There was another post on this earlier. Try clearing your Market cache and /
 or data.

You also have to force stop the market app, then clear data and cache.
Try that.

[android-developers] Re: Android 2.2.2 Market app losing apps?

2011-01-26 Thread jarkman
While clearing the cache may fix one device, it is not much help to
our customers.

I see that Google now say that have fixed the underlying problem:
http://android-developers.blogspot.com/2010/06/application-visibility-issues.html
although (for example) I still can't see Ringo Pro right now on my N1.

I shall hope the change is just taking some time to ripple through,
and check again tomorrow.

That was in June, 2010. Probably no longer applicable. But speaking of that
post, this line is simply priceless:

Regrettably, we fell short of our own standard for customer support by not
communicating the issue to our developers and how we were working to resolve
 it.

Standard for customer support. Right.

Nope, no such luck. While in search of the lost child, I also
discovered that linking from the browser to Market is borked,
like such:
--- snip
Browsing on your Android device? a href=market://details?
id=com.myapp.packageJump directly to Androidtrade; Market/a
--- snip
results in an unfriendly
The requested item could not be found pop-up dialog.
Not sure when that broke, I haven't tried that until recently. Still
works like a charm on 1.6

I saw some reports on the Android Market help forum that indicated
this was another occurrence of protected apps not showing up with new
firmwares.
Is your app using copy protection? I'm sure Google will eventually
talk to Google and let them know about the new firmware...

That's the case. Thanks, that might be it.

Glad I didn't quit my dayjob.
