thanks for that, but inapp wont work for this. IMHO thats for games. Since no marketing people have responded, I am just going to put it on the market and see what happens. The android market is for selling software, not software and hardware. How would you handle special refunds? Might be best to sell the hardware on your own online store and through other sites willing to sell it. Then release the app for free and make it work only with the hardware. You could also give each HW device a serial number and that number has to be entered when starting the app to register it so it can be used. NXP's online-only compiler for its mBed dev kit uses a similar approach.
