that's weird but it just worked by itself when I was outside... that
explains it for the current location but doesn't explain it for an
explicit geo point that I specified to the map !!

The major difference between the ADP1 and G1 is the firmware, all the
hardware is the same.  And besides, you can always downgrade and root
your G1 so that you can load other firmware on it, such as the ADP1
1.5 firmware.

but let's put it this way, with the 1.0 API, U can't even locate a
certain point on the map ?

let's say locating the whitehouse, I give the proper coordinates but
the map wouldn't move.

is it a coding mistake?

Ok as I was fearing.. I reached a stage where the application works on
the emulator and not on the device!

For example: after giving out the long/lat to a function on the
emulator it takes u to the specific location however, it doesn't do
that on the device is there somethign I dk here?

Then just test your application on the 1.5 emulator and when you get
the update OTA then put it on the device n test it...

Dont worry ADP wont make u real dev.;-)

1- I developed an application using API number 3 so will the firmware
1.5 be enough ???

2- I just got the phone and don't want to screw it up, however the
process looks very simple. In case I screwed it up, can't I just
restore to factory setttings?

* Rename zip file to update.zip
* Load the file on your SD card’s main directory
* Turn off the phone, reboot it holding the HOME button
* When you see the triangle, hit ALT+L, then ALT+S
* Press HOME and BACK when it prompts you
* After it installs the radio, it might reboot a time or two
* ENJOY!
* BONUS: Download the AndroidGuys widget and stay up to date with
all the latest Android news and rumors.


What SD Card? will it erase everything on the phone?
