I go to the admin interfase and don't see it anymore.
Please look harder next time, it may have moved but is definitely still there:
 https://www.archlinux.org/admin/mirrors/mirror/

The link is not on the admin page, so how could I guess it?

Anyway I get 403 Forbidden on that URL.

[arch-dev-public] [signoff] xz 4.999.9beta_17 4_g41bc-1

2010-09-09 Thread Pierre Schmitz
Hi all,

this will hopefully the last update of xz for some time. :-) Maybe this
is a sign for the final 5.0 version to be near. I am now using the (very
strange) upstream versioning scheme.

Please test it,

Pierre

Aha! Yes, I think some permissions items need fixing, sorry about
that. My admin page shows a whole lot more than that so I didn't think
 otherwise.

Should be fixed now, I just threw together the necessary updates to
fix this. Sorry about all the weirdness and thanks for the picture.

Do you think a community-staging would be helpful? I could commit the
needed changes to dbscripts and devtools; I'd like to do a new release
 soon anyway.

FYI: support for community-staging was added to devtools 0.9.10 and
dbscripts.

[arch-dev-public] tcp_wrappers- does anyone actually use it?

2010-09-09 Thread Dan McGee
Guys,

For the umpteenth time today I stared at ssh wondering why it wasn't
accepting incoming connections until I remembered about tcp_wrappers
junk, and put the standard sshd : ALL : allow line in hosts.allow.

Does anyone use this for anything useful at all?

1. The package is now at version 7.6-12 (clearly it is getting a lot
of upstream attention)
2. We have 11 patches applied to the package
3. It is inferior to iptables-based filtering
4. It is not very transparent

Discussion welcome, but I am raising a vote to remove this dependency
from packages currently using it (hopefully this is possible for all
21 of them, http://www.archlinux.org/packages/core/x86_64/tcp_wrappers/)
and eventually remove it from core and the repositories.

[arch-dev-public] CJK fonts in [extra]?

2010-09-09 Thread Gaetan Bisson
Hi all,

I'd like to add truetype fonts that provide Chinese/Japanese/Korean
glyphs to [extra].

Besides TTF files, the packages would include a configuration file for
/etc/fonts/conf.avail/ which would be linked to from /etc/fonts/conf.d/
by the install script, so that the font is automatically used for glyphs
not provided by higher-priority fonts such as ttf-dejavu.

For instance, I've adapted the AUR package ttf-sazanami which provides a
nice font supporting Japanese characters:

http://arch.vesath.org/ttf-sazanami-20040629-4.src.tar.xz

Any comment or reason why I shouldn't do this is welcome! :)

Best.
