Re: [arch-general] HP Laserjet plus 1020 Problem
Come on, do a little bit of homework and give at least some proper info to help you troubleshoot your stuff. How are you connecting to the printer, via wireless or ethernet or usb? What does it mean "not working" under Arch? Printer connected but not printing, printer not recognized, ...what? Learn to ask before asking for help. I have never encountered any problem with HP printers under Arch, so the problem must be in your lack of knowledge of your own system. Good luck, domanov

[arch-general] animate.sty in texlive-latexextra needs update
Dear list, I run into the problem of outdated package "animate" contained in texlive-latexextra. With the current version of the package, xelatex is not able to embed animations at least when using png frames. At the contrary, pdflatex works fine. Replacing the /usr/share/texmf-dist/tex/latex/animate/animate.sty with the version "2019/12/03" available upstream, that is, from CTAN [1], fixes the issue. I am now confused as what it's the best way to proceed, since I am not familiar with Arch's release cycle of texlive. Should I flag texlive-latexextra as out-of-date? Or is it better to file a bugreport? Suggestions welcomed. Cheers, Domanov [1] https://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/animate

It gets slightly better if you remove any .screenrc, but that's not very significant.

Maybe windows turned something off? Broken power saving >> feature that turned off something in the card maybe? What does "rfkill -list" say? Some Win driver soft block the wifi card upon restart/shutdown.
Re: [arch-general] I just want to say THANK YOU!
Hi guys, [...] this is by far the > most complete distribution/OS that i've ever tried. Fantastic > documentation, fantastic community, fantastic *. All the way. > > Teaching how to fish instead of giving away fish. > This is a good chance to express my gratitude too. I installed my first arch back in 2003. Since then I am 100% arch, and never looked back. University, home, work, sheeva plug, raspberry, servers, desktops, laptops, ultrabooks. Even my father's computer now. With arch I finally had both fun and efficiency, I was forced to understand and learn loads of stuff. But actually... it just works. Well, most of the time, at least ;) In my small circle I try to push others to do the same. For me it's a big, fat, huge THANKS! to all overlords, devs, TUs, regular fellas hanging in this wonderful community. You rock, we rock, arch rocks. Cheers, domanov
