I downloaded 'archlinux-2010.05.16-core-i686.iso'

A netinstall works, but trying a core install produces
an error box saying that the directory containing the

I just booted the image in question, and the packages seemed to be in
the right place. I didn't try to install though.

Fons, please report that as a bug on the bugtracker.

thanks to everyone who tested the 2010.05.13 (or earlier) images.
i received confirmation for 4 images with which a boot+installation went fine.
for netinstall-dual.iso I only reiceved confirmation that it boots fine
(but that's enough, given the other tested images).
However i got no feedback for the core-x86_64 image.

So right now, these two things are needed:
 * confirmation that archlinux-2010.05.16-core-x86_64.iso boots fine.
 * confirmation that wireless cards are properly initialised now.

cheers, and stay tuned for a release soonish :)

Thanks for pulling this all together, this stuff is looking good.

Would like to help testing it out, but my weekend internet (home
connection) sucks, and by the time I get into the office it may be done
already. In any case, if that doesn't happen I'll try to get the last
two things confirmed.

By 'boots' I assume you mean from CD? I intend to try it out on my
physical system using unetbootin, but if you want it from CD I can just
fire up VBox. Which would you prefer? Physical means I should be able to
test wifi as well.

from CD or USB should not matter much, in vbox would be fine, but on a
physical system is better :)

I did an offline installation with archlinux-2010.05.16-core-x86_64.iso
in VirtualBox and it went flawlessly. I also used dm_crypt for the root
partition and experienced no issues with that either. :)

The new Grub theme used in the installation media is looking very sharp
too. I love it. :)

Awesome work Dieter!

I've just tried it out using the dual netinstall iso. My Wi-Fi Intel 5300 AGN
gets recognized and I could connect to my WPA encrypted network.

I can't tell anything about the installer, as I didn't used it, just tried out
whether my wireless card works.

Great to see it working, last time I had to mess around with the ethernet ...
