[Archivesspace_Users_Group] Auto spacing in Notes field

2022-04-29 Thread 松山 ひとみ
Hi all,

We’ve been faced with a language-originated issue in AS’s Notes-Text field.

Since Japanese looks illegible without line breaks in a long description, we
tried to use br-tags in the field as the sample image1 inserted below.

[グラフィカル ユーザー インターフェイス, テキスト, アプリケーション, メール 自動的に生成された説明]

Then, the number of these brs we wrote in the field seems automatically added
after the end of the description line when the field is formatted.

[グラフィカル ユーザー インターフェイス, テキスト 自動的に生成された説明]

[テキスト 自動的に生成された説明]

This sometimes causes an unnecessarily wide break between abstract/scope and
content and other essential information; Dates, Extent, and etc. listed in PUI.

Could we make line breaks in a Notes-Text filed without using br-tag?
If any alternative doesn’t work, could we eliminate the brs which automatically
appear and create an unnecessary blank when formatted?

Thanks,

[Archivesspace_Users_Group] Searching by Agents and Subjects Results in "something went wrong."

2022-04-29 Thread Patterson, Eli
Greetings ArchivesSpace list-serve,

I'm hoping to get some advice or suggestions on a problem we're having when
trying to migrate from 2.6.0 to 3.2.0.

When searching by /agents or /subjects, the return list is populated. Drilling
down on any of the results (e.g. attempting to access /subjects/253) results in
the error screen "We're sorry, but something went wrong."

The ASpace logs look clean, only getting the request, even though I've put them
into DEBUG mode.

The only thing that looks suspicious to me is in the solr logs:

Re: [Archivesspace_Users_Group] gemfile issues - 2.8.1 and plugins

Ok, so I missed the script step on the plugin. Did not read the manual
quite well enough. Once the additional bundling was done, the plugin seems
to be working.

[Archivesspace_Users_Group] Ref ID - Did not match regular expression \A[a-zA-Z0-9\-_:\.]*\z

2022-04-29 Thread Kinzer, Joseph
Hello community,

I am new to this group and am wondering if anyone else has encountered this
error message when adding a child. I just created a new finding aid and it has
no children as of yet. As I try to add a Series child, I receive the following
error: Ref ID - Did not match regular expression \A[a-zA-Z0-9\-_:\.]*\z

I don't understand it becaue the Ref ID is auto-generated upon save and I can't
manipulate that field if I wanted to. What am I missing?

Thanks,

[Archivesspace_Users_Group] gemfile issues - 2.8.1 and plugins

2022-04-29 Thread Tom Hanstra
I'm attempting to add the bulk_updater plugin to our 2.8.1 instance. A
prerequisite for that is the digitization_work_order plugin.

Installation of this worked ok in our test version of 3.2.0. But when
installing on 2.8.1, I'm getting the error:

WARNING: ERROR: initialization failed
org.jruby.rack.RackInitializationException: Could not find gem 'write_xlsx
(= 1.01.0) java' in any of the gem sources listed in your Gemfile.

How do I go about getting this fixed? Do I have to use an older version
of the plugins? Or add something more to ArchivesSpace?

Thanks,
Tom
