Thanks for the clarification and sorry for the confusion.

Again, I find myself not familiar enough with the process for ArchivesSpace
releases and development. If the work is done (as shown in the pull request
sent), what is barring this from being added into the upcoming release of 13.4?
Seems like completed work could easily be added to the next release, but I'm
probably being too simplistic?

If it won't be added by 3.4, I'll look into the plugin. If someone has a URL
for it, that would be great. Or I'll try Google.

Thanks,
Tom

I believe that functionality was originally developed as a plugin – perhaps
that explains why Cambridge has it working already?

Hi Brian,

For clarification -- I'd seen IDs in Cambridge's public display and had asked
Tom to toggle our instance on after that model. Is the tree display
here<https://archivesearch.lib.cam.ac.uk/repositories/2/resources/8865> output
by the PUI configuration option we're discussing? Or does something else make
that ID display possible?

The staff-side view presented in the pull request you referenced also looks
like exactly what we're after. The work being done, any chance this option
could be included in the 3.4 release? Thanks again,

Those two features are partially implemented in JavaScript. It is possible that
your web browser has cached the old versions of the JavaScript files. Try doing
a hard
refresh<https://www.howtogeek.com/672607/how-to-hard-refresh-your-web-browser-to-bypass-your-cache/>
 or emptying your browser's cache.

[Archivesspace_Users_Group] Modifying User Defined fields

2022-12-15 Thread Erhan Tuskan
Hello Everybody,

At IISH we would like to use a few user defined fields for the Accessions. We
have changed the translations in the en.yml as explained in the User manual but
all our attempts failed, resulting in the following:

[cid:image002.jpg@01D910A3.98CB1520]

We have also tried, without success, the plug-in at
https://github.com/hudmol/user_defined_in_basic. Our developer thinks that this
is not compatible with v3.3.1 any more

Any tips and suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Valerie and Corey,
Thanks very much for the helpful tips.
We had already tried to configure through Manage Repositories but we didn't get
any effect.
Now we have discovered that we need to configure also the sub-repositories.
This has fixed the issue.

Thanks,

Erhan

Hey Erhan,

I know you said you are using the OAI-PMH exports, but I made a little tool for
batch exporting EAD.xml files as well as MARCXML, PDFs, and Container labels:
https://github.com/uga-libraries/ASpace_Batch_Export-Cleanup-Upload

It doesn't use OAI-PMH (see Valerie's comments), but something to consider if
you want the files directly and in batches. Just throwing it out there.

Dear All,

At International Institute of Social History (Amsterdam) we have successfully
imported our 5000+ EAD records.

For our search environment (VuFind) we need batch export in MARCXML and EAD
formats.

At the moment when we use the OAI2 ListRecords verb for the metadata prefix
'oai_marc' we receive different types of objects in the result set:

https://as-oai-acc.collections.iisg.org/?verb=ListRecords=oai_marc

will return a 'oai:archivesspace//repositories/2/archival_objects/1'

But we only want resources (collection level) in the OAI2 export. This is the
case for metadataPrefix 'oai_ead'. E.g.:

https://as-oai-acc.collections.iisg.org/?verb=ListRecords=oai_ead

will return a 'oai:archivesspace//repositories/2/resources/1'

Can we set this with configuration? We use v3.1.0

Thank you in advance for any help or feedback,

Have you checked the Resources? Here at the IISH in Amsterdam we are currently
busy with testing of the EAD-import and when you refresh the page after the job
is done it hangs often on loading. If this is what you mean just check the
Resources and you'll find the record already loaded. This is our experience at
least.

Hello,

My library and I are brand new to ArchivesSpace and I am learning as I go
along. I've encountered an issue I hope is known and/or has a fairly
straightforward solution. I have followed the instructions in the user manual
for importing EAD files, and upon notification of a successful import and
refreshing the page, there are no links in the new records section. I have
tried this a few times (different days), with two files. If there is something
technically wrong with one file, though, it's likely to be the same with the
other. I've also considered it could be something related to our setup. I'd be
grateful for any suggestions you may have!

Thanks,
Jennifer
