Re: ARS 7.5 using PAM authentication
Brian, If your OS supports PAM and you only want authentication information from PAM then I think that you only need to do two things. You need to do is to turn on the Cross Ref Blank Password setting and have the user's record have no password in the User form. However, you may need to NOT be using any AREA plugin to make this work too. Hi Sucharita, You can make a display only form and give the permissions on this form to a group. The restricted set of users can be added to this permission group and you can use this group permission to check which set of users sees which home page. Hope that helps. Re: Atrium 7.6 Promote Sandbox Changes after server restart.
Maybe it would help to understand why you want to disable this activity. Normally, this shouldn't be an issue unless you have multiple thousands of CIs in the sandbox, and I would think that a personal sandbox would normally not contain that many, so even if the job kicked off, it should complete fairly quickly without causing any problems. What is the symptom your seeing that you are trying to correct that you think stopping this job from kicking off will solve? Maybe it's not the real issue that should be looked at. Re: ARS 7.5 using PAM authentication
We already tried that. Didn't work. PAM is pretty much a broker for other authentication tools like kerberos. It is not setup to use LDAP, which would be an easy integration using the cross reference capabilities. It also doesn't store user information in a etc/password file either, so it doesn't appear that OS authentication is an option and it has to be a custom AREA plugin. There is a java plugin called JPAM, which utilizes JAAS. We are looking at potentially using this and integrating the Java plugin with Remedy. It seems that this may be the easiest route. Re: Atrium 7.6 Promote Sandbox Changes after server restart.
Peter, I'll give that a try. Lyle, When I attempt to access my personal sandbox view in Atrium Core Console Explorer, its automatically sets off the Promote Sandbox Changes in Progress process. This runs for approximately 30 minutes and then errors out. The issue is, I have not triggered a promotion. This started happening after a server restart. I've gone through various forms and cfg files to try and determine why this is being kicked off. I've purged all instances under my sandbox in the hopes that it would stop the process from kicking off. I can only assume that someting is firing a reconciliation because the arrecond.exe process is active and the log is growing quite rapidly. Creating Request From Request Console Causing Server Crash
All, I have a 7.5.1 patch 2 server running ITSM 7.5.1 patch 2. Every other time I create a Request from the Requester Console (SRM NOT Installed) my services crash and I loose my plug-in server. I restart the services but the plug-in server is still down. The fix is to comment out the plug-in lines in the conf file start the services, delete the error event in CAI Events, then un comment out the plug- in lines and restart the services. Has anyone seen this before or have any idea why this might happen? Re: Push Field Question
Mark, Not sure if there are any special operators that you can use to truncate based on certain criteria but you could: Make the diary field RO. In order to update the diary field, a button is clicked to open up a dialog. Then you can push the contents of the dialog using your filter and also update the existing diary field with the contents of the dialog. Tauf Chowdhury | Forest Laboratories, Inc. There isn't. What you can do is create workflow to make the user populate a text box, then push the contents of that in both your filter and push the entry into the diary field. OT: Access query oddity...
Listers, First of all this is an Access related issue, so qualifies to be an off topic question I guess. I just figured many of you might be using Access as a choice of tool for data cleaning so may be familiar with what I am facing.. Below is the query I have written in Access, to set the name of the company in the table RefreshData, based on the domain of a users business email address.. While this query runs perfectly and sets the company name, if I try to save the query for future use in Access, it doesn't save it but crashes out Access, and when I reopen it, the query has nothing in the SQL panel besides the default SELECT; that appears when you open a new access query to build a new query.. This is the update query that I've successfully ran, but unable to save.. UPDATE RefreshData SET RefreshData.[Company] = IIf(RefreshData.[User Email Address] Like '*centresolutions.com',Centre Solutions, IIf(RefreshData.[User Email Address] Like '*csc.com',Computer Sciences Corporation, IIf(RefreshData.[User Email Address] Like '*farmersinsurance.com',Farmers Insurance, IIf(RefreshData.[User Email Address] Like '*foremost.com',Foremost Insurance Group, IIf(RefreshData.[User Email Address] Like '*kraftlake.com',Kraft Lake Insurance Agency (KLIA), IIf(RefreshData.[User Email Address] Like '*us.ibm.com',IBM - United States, IIf(RefreshData.[User Email Address] Like '*wipro.com',Wipro Technologies, IIf(RefreshData.[User Email Address] Like '*wtp.ca',WTP, IIf(RefreshData.[User Email Address] Like '*zurich.com',Zurich Financial Services Group, IIf(RefreshData.[User Email Address] Like '*zurichbf.com',Zurich Benefit Finance, IIf(RefreshData.[User Email Address] Like '*zurichna.com',Zurich North America,RefreshData.[Company]))); Any idea why this may be happening? As a workaround I have saved this in notepad for future use - not convenient but will have to do.. fields orderer in emails notifications
hello list, Env: ARSystem 6.001 latest patch with the email engine at the same level. On Sun Solaris 9 with Sybase 12.5.3 I have several filters that fire email notifications. I included in the emails several of the fields from the form. I would like these fields to appear in a certain order: A before B and C after B, etc ... I tried several ways of making this work but it looks like the ARSystem chooses itself always the same order which looks like not having any order, i.e A comes after F which comes before D, etc ... I checked the docs, I haven't found any relevant information regarding my concern. Can anybody possibly give me some indications, help, ... on how this order is built and how I could change it to work as I would like? This is an important requirement for us to move to 7.5 with possibly ITSM Suite. Re: fields orderer in emails notifications
The Remedy v7 Notification Engine builds a formatted Email so you don't need to worry about that when you upgrade. For standard notification filters, you could build a formatted message in a text field and send a single field. Re: fields orderer in emails notifications
You need to create a special view of the form called ARNotification. The X,Y order of the fields in that view will dictate how they are displayed in the email. This is documented in the 7.1 Work Flow Objects guide. Re: fields orderer in emails notifications
Hi, There are no way of sorting the fields in any version. You can add fields to the Notify Text instead. You have to add both label and $Fieldname$ and a NL between each field. There are upper limitations to the Text-size, in which case you must do something else. For example creating an unlimited Display-only-field where you put your message. Add this field only in the field list. Best Regards - Misi, RRR AB, http://www.rrr.se Products from RRR Scandinavia: * RRR|License - Not enough Remedy licenses?
