Hi,

Here is that config, without the comments.

I have not changed anything here after the install of Mid-Tier 7.5 patch

the passwords admin and arserver passwords.

Looks like there is an issue with the FTP selection to download from the new

this was just my profile?

Anyone else tried?

Hi All,

For those customers who purchased the IT Service Management Suite from
BMC, the 7.6.03 version is now available. This includes all the version
7.6.03 products that are part of the Suite (ITSM, AR System, Atrium Core,

The product(s) can be downloaded from the Product

Note that the Suite Stack Installer is only available for Windows and

Charlie,

Rod is correct you have to relate the Business (or Technical) Service CI to
either a Person, Organization or Company. Another thing to remember, If you
are relating to a company or organization, and you have more than 1 company
just remember the Service+ field menu on the form is populated by the
Company of the Customer+.

Hi Charlie,

Are you adding people in the people tab of the service CI? You need to
create a used by relationship to a person or persons before it can
be specified on an incident for that person.

Could someone give me a tip on how to popular this field?

ARERR 9093

Hi List

We have 2 mid-tier servers (WINDOWS 2003, IIS, Servlet Exec) configured in a
load balancer. Over the last few days we have started getting ARERR 9084 or
ARERR 9093 while accessing Remedy application over the mid-tier. This is
happening for some users only while others are able to work fine.

We have checked with our network team and the sticky config for the load
balancer is in place and the IP address of user machines are not changing. We
have also tried comparing the header content being passed for affected users
with the correct users and there is no significant difference observed.
Releasing the license of the user's session is not helping in this case and the
affected users are currently unable to access the web app. An extract of the

In my experience, this error is not related to Load balancing.that will
simply cause you issues with invalid session. This problem is as you said,
either their IP is changing, or they are closing their browser without

Related Change Search question

2010-09-08 Thread Rick Cook
The form CHG:Change Assoc Search is used as a dialog when attempting to
search for matching RFCs from an existing one. I have added a couple of
fields to that form so that they can be used as additional search criteria.
I also added them to the table qualification, the workflow that does the
search, and even as table columns (though I can't see what that actually
adds), but I can't get those fields to return values. In fact, the addition
of them to the Table field qualification prevents other searches from
working as well.

I have run comparative AL logs (one with pre-existing field search, one with
new field), but they are pretty much identical, and don't point to an
issue. Has anyone done this successfully that could show me what I'm
overlooking? I don't even know what else to look at.

ARS 6.3. Changing Oracle server from 9 to 10. Caveats?

2010-09-08 Thread Ray T
So, in my never ending quest to make slow but steady progress
towards modernization (or I should say to get to historic modernity),
I have ARS 6.3 that was running with 9.2.0.1 Oracle client against 9i Oracle
server,
now running with 9.2.0.4 client against Oracle 10g server.

I'm all good with compatibility matrix for Oracle and for ARS.

This is what I did: I added the 9.2.0.4 client on the server, copied 9i
database to a 10g server, and repointed ar.conf to talk to the 10g instance
using 9.2.0.4 client.

It all looks good on simple tests.
Anything else I need to worry about before repeating this on production?
Yes, I have taken care of some local database weirdness, such as
tables/views not owned by ARAdmin, and some ARAdmin objects having
permissions for extra users.

ARS 6.3 on SunOs 5.9. New Oracle client is 9.2.0.4, 32-bit.

Oracle server is remote, 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit

TIA.

Re: What am I doing wrong? arimportcmd.exe fails from a filter and command line

2010-09-08 Thread Calman Steynberg

 Ibrahim,

the reason your original command did not work was because you used a
lower case -m. In your snippet below you changed it to -M which is why
it now works.

-m and -M are mutually exclusive. (I believe there is a note stating
this in the documentation somewhere)

-m denotes the mapping name, which is typically not the same as the
mapping file name

-M denotes the file name of the mapping file

When you are using -m the import tool will look for all the mapping
files in the directory specified, open them up and compare your value
for -m against the name *inside* the file. If they match it then uses
that mapping file.

-M on the other hand will only try to use the specified file and nothing
else.

In general, it's better to use -M and specify the full path to the
actual file (no need to use -d then). It resolves a lot of ambiguity,
since -m might have unintended results if you have 2 mapping files in
the directory that has the same name inside.

ARERR 9093

2010-09-08 Thread Jaya Munjal

Re: Changing row highlight color

2010-09-08 Thread Shane Buchholz
David,

Thanks for the reply. I am not having issues setting the background color on
the rows. The issue I am having is with the highlight color used in MidTier
for the selected row. The default color is yellowish, and it is causing some
confusion with users during testing. I would like to have the highlight be
transparent so the actual row color would show through. Another option would
be to select a color that does not fall in line with the color scheme we are
trying to use.

Again, any help is appreciated.

I didn't have any language issues but had issues downloading using the
download manager with the combination of Firefox, NoScript and running as a
non administrator on Win7. The Akamai client was already installed from my
attempts with Firefox and it just worked when I tried with IE.

I have to say it was really nice to select put a check by 7.6.03 and
download everything at once. Using Akamai looks like it is helping with the
download speeds.

Looks like there is an issue with the FTP selection to download from the
new EPD. The email it sends with the FTP details, is always in Chinese no
matter what your profile is set to. I have emailed customercare but wondered
if this was just my profile?

 Anyone else tried?

 Cheers

 Danny

 Hi All,

For those customers who purchased the IT Service Management Suite from
BMC, the 7.6.03 version is now available. This includes all the version
7.6.03 products that are part of the Suite (ITSM, AR System, Atrium Core,
etc.) as well as the Suite Stack Installer.

The product(s) can be downloaded from the Product Downloads
 (EPD)http://apps.bmc.com/server/available.cfm?fc=EPDAPPsite. Note that the
Suite Stack Installer is only available for Windows and
Solaris, so it will only show up under those two Operating System
 environments on EPD.

 Thanks,

** I didn't have any language issues but had issues downloading using the
download manager with the combination of Firefox, NoScript and running as a
non administrator on Win7. The Akamai client was already installed from my
attempts with Firefox and it just worked when I tried with IE.

I have to say it was really nice to select put a check by 7.6.03 and
download everything at once. Using Akamai looks like it is helping with the
download speeds.
