Re: Issue in opening a display only form

Hi,

It is a customized application and we are bringing all the tasks(there
are quite big number of tasks) into one single form. Earlier each task
has one display-only form. Users requested to build in this way.

Is it really an issue if we have high number fields? We need to add
more fields on this form. it may cross 5k fields also.

Hello Swetha,

If the user want to select from the menu list and not to enter his own
value, place $MENU$ in Pattern on Attributes tab of field properties. Which
will not allow the user to enter his own value. User can select only listed
values from the list.

I hope this will solve ure prob.

Hi John,

Request ID and other fields has permissions(Public-Read, IM-Write). The User
who creates a record has IM and even Administrator access in the User
profile. On submission of this record an email should send to either this
user mail or an external mail. But both the Users are failing to receive
this record information. But surprisingly When I supply my email ID am able
to see the same record. :)

We haven't used Assignee Group(ID 112) field at all in our forms. Why it is
working in development machine and not in Test machine. As I earlier stated
Operating Systems are different, do we have to consider any other factors.

Please let me know any solution.

Re: Email Notifications not populating filed information

2009-08-27 Thread Sreenivas
Please find the details below for your Qs.
In each filter notification we are sending selected fields, not all the
fields.

When the mail is sent correctly, all of the fields are sent to some of the
users?
Yes. when the mail sent correctly , the selected fields are populated for
some users.

When the fields are not sent, are ALL the fields missing or just some of the
fields?
All the fields are failed to populate.

Which fields are sent correctly and which fields are not?
All(Selected fields in the filter notify) are failed for some users

Isolate a user who receives good mail and one who receives bad.
Alignment is not correct and not populating the data for each field. One
column to display the Field Name, other column to display data. All field
names are displaying as it is static data.

Are their group memberships absolutely identical?
Irrespective of the group sending notifications by entering email id and
hitting a button to notify the customer.

Is one or the other assigned to a role on the ticket that generates the
mail? Submitter? Assignee? A member of a group in the Assignee Groups field?
same as above

Basically some users are getting correct notification and others are failing
to get. Strange One. :(

Thanks for your valuble suggestions... :)

Re: Sending Emails to Groups

2008-12-05 Thread Sreenivas, Aravind
What will happen if the user enters some other number (say "2007") in
the email ID field which by chance matches some other group ID (and
assuming no user exists with username = 2007) ? As per the current
logic, email should be sent out to all members of the group ID 2007.

Next, what if the user enters "Public" in the email ID field (assuming
that a user with this name doesn't exist) ? Since it doesn't find a
match in user form but finds a match in the Group form, it should send
emails to everybody.

If so, only creating a user with username = 0 might not be sufficient as
it will not cover all the groups.

Or am I wrong?

Re: Mid-Tier 7.1.0 Performance Issue -- Tomcat

2008-11-20 Thread Sreenivas, Aravind

We recently observed that when we restart our app/web server
(Tomcat/Apache), majority of the files in the cache directory (*.data
and *.index) are updated (/webapps/ars/cache). We have enabled
persistent cache option and have a few of the biggest forms in
pre-fetch.

1. For forms mentioned in the prefetch xml, am I correct in assuming
that :

a. these are fetched when I start/restart the app/web server AND the
other forms (i.e. those not mentioned in the prefetch xml) are not
fetched?

b. The forms not mentioned in the prefetch are fetched only when a user
tries to access the forms and its out-of-date (assuming Enable check is
switched on)?

2. Is there any way in which we can tell the app/web server not to fetch
forms (either mentioned in prefetch or not) when we restart the app/web
server? We would like it to use what data it already has in the cache
directory before it was restarted, rather than it fetching the forms
from the server again after its restarted.

3. What is the purpose of the USERNAME in the prefetch xml? Should only
an admin username be defined here or will any ID do?

I skimmed through the documentation available, but was unable to get
clarity on the above.

**

The use of persistent cache is so that you don't have to go fetch again
after the Mid-Tier is restarted.

BMC Remedy Mid Tier performance (persistent cache)

In AR System 7.1, forms currently cached in memory can now be serialized
to a file, which enables these forms to be read back into memory when
the application server hosting the mid tier application is restarted
(after a normal shutdown).

Pre-fetch is for when the forms haven't yet been fetched. It ensures
that the fetching occurs prior to the first request for the form. That
way, users don't have to wait for the Mid-Tier to fetch the form - it's
already there and cached for them.

Re: How to update Time field based on Timezone

2008-09-26 Thread Sreenivas Reddy
Hi All,

Environment Details

SunOS 5.10 (Solaris)
Oracle 10g
ARS 7.0.0.1 Patch3

When User update Time Zone from Tools->Options->Locale->Time Zone
through Remedy User, It is being updated in ARSystem User Preference
Form. All the Date/Time fields are displaying based on Time Zone
settings, but Time fields are not updating. I know remedy will not
change the Time fields based on Time Zone. How to update Time fields
through remedy Workflow.

Thanks,
Sree

Hi All,

How to update Time field based on Timezone. I knew that Remedy won't

Please let me know the solution.

Thanks,
