Joe, The system was not set to update automatically. It is a standalone system with local Network. The system earlier working with patch 8 with JDK 1.5.0.15 (minimum recommended 1.5.0.12). The version is still the same. The issue history includes some changes in arsystem startup script as well. We have given the java path manually in script as /usr/java/jre/lib/sparc/server:/usr/java/jre/bin. Earlier, it was /usr/bin/java, which is not helping us to start up arsystem after patch 9 upgrade. We have some confusion to update the java path in environment variables of solaris. The system has 32 bit and 64 bit java. But, which is the right path to point in what variables is our confusion. Fred, I have run the ARS as non-root only and it fails when I run ./arsystem start from the bin directory. Even if I run with root user, I still get the below error and java process didn’t started at all. This happens with not root user as well. Also, i haven't change the java version in the server. I am not sure after installation, is it updated or needs to be updated correctly. Can you pls guide me what to look out in CLASSPATH. Try to start it from the command line and see what is the error you get, assuming for some reason it has not started.
