SOLVED: ITSM 764 Upgrade Port Issue

2015-02-19 Thread Frank Caruso
The issue was with the ARSystemInstalledConfiguration.xml file in the ARSystem
folder. Somehow it was corrupted. I copied the file from another server and
updated a few of the server references and the installer finally worked.

Frank,
I'm not sure why the upgrade isn't recognizing the current install, but one
thing you could do (that I've done in the past) is shut down the Remedy
server and Port Mapper during this part of the installit should
obviously be recognizing those ports as in use because of the server you
are upgrading, but it's notso, shut down both components, and the ports
won't be 'in use' during this part of the install :)

Re: ITSM 764 Upgrade Port Issue

2015-01-28 Thread Frank Caruso
The upgrade is from ITSM 764 sp2 to 8.1.02. The first stage is running the ARS
portion to get to 8.1.02. This is what does not work. The only options I ever
see during the install is whether I am doing an Install or Upgrade, the ARS
path and whether to update ARS and Midtier. I never tell it anything else. The
next screen I see tells me the ports 5001 and 5002 are in use and the install
cannot continue. But we are doing an upgrade and running on ports 5001 and 5002.

The only way I can get the installer to move beyond this point is to change
back to Port Mapper and run on TCD 0 and Plugin port 0.

Hi Rick

Have you mentioned the same directory path of 7604 or something else.
And is your upgrade to 8.1.02 already failed ??
I thought you were getting this error on the installer screen while giving
the user inputs.

My arsysteminstalledconfiguration.XML file shows details of my failed
8.1.02 installation - not my current 8.1.0 version.

Hello frank

Ave you checked with arsysteminstalledconfiguration.XML

It should be present in the ar server installed directory.

If it is there then Check what is mentioned in that against these property
tags.

I got an error saying that something in addition to Windows Portmapper was
using port 111. Is that the one you got, too? We've been unable to find
anything else using that port, btw.

ITSM 764 Upgrade Port Issue

2015-01-27 Thread Frank Caruso
RHEL 5, ITSM 764 sp2, Oracle, Weblogic

Attempting to upgrade an ITSM 764 sp2 install to 8.1.02 but when I run the ARS
installer it gives me errors about TCD and plugin ports in use. It appears is
though it thinks I am trying to install another copy of ARS on the same server.
The current set up we have is not using port mapper and running TCD on 5001 and
Plugin Port on 5002.

Anyone experienced this type of an issue?

Thanks

Frank C.
