Re: AR_DATA_TYPE_BITMASK in ARX?
Misi, Looking at the Java API Docs regarding BITMASK, I'm not sure it is a 'field' typein as much as an attribute type of something within the structureI don't think you would have a field of type BITMASK -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arsl...@arslist.org] On Behalf Of Misi Mladoniczky Sent: Tuesday, September 21, 2010 10:25 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: AR_DATA_TYPE_BITMASK in ARX? Hi, Has anyone encountered ARX file data of the type BITMASK? I creating ARX-file parser/creator functionality in RRR|Chive, and I need to know how this looks, and how to generate such data for testing purposes. Re: AR_DATA_TYPE_BITMASK in ARX?
Folks, Before anyone hurts themselves trying or looking too hard... BITMASK is indeed a tag on the datatype list. It is a datatype that we had put on the candidate list about version 2 and we added the code for it to allow it to be added. HOWEVER, it never happened. There are some implementation issues and challenges that we never did get back to. So, this datatype has not been implemented. There is no internal support for it and it is not a legal, supported datatype. We have the placeholder for it for the future and it may be implemented some day, but for now, there is nothing to test since it is not used. Hi Doug, Thank you for the information. I am guessing that AR_DATA_TYPE_BYTES has a similar story behind it?
