Dip,

Can you please share what you've documented with the list?

** We do Environment Refresh from Production for new environments have
documented registry changes other changes required to change the
servername. However if you've installed CMDB 2.0 or greater version ,its
advisable to manually install it as it stores the server name in binaries in
some places not easy to detect.

Has anyone changed the server name running ARS 7.1 ITSM 7.0?

We have a hot backup server with the same name as our production server,
but on a different domain and with a different IP. We found out that
they will eventually be on the same domain, so we'll have to change the
name of our hot backup server. Anyone have to do this before? Since we
backup the production db and restore it to the hot backup server, we are
wondering how this will effect changing the name of the server.

Both are Win2003 SP2 OS with MS SQL 2005 on a separate server.

Re: Server Name Change

I withdraw the question. Since the one server is a hot backup, it will
not be on the domain at the same time as the production server. So no
name change will be required.
