The problem with this kind of detail is that if someone makes a change - 
however trivial - to the command line interface of the applet, then this 
tutorial becomes outdated, which is worse than no tutorial.


It would be better to explain the general principles of how applets work 
and the -h option (as I did in my email), which respectively are part of 
the ARTIQ architecture and a widely adopted convention and therefore are 
much less likely to change. Let the users figure out how they should 
edit the command line in the GUI based on that.

Attached is a patch that will clarify the example I was working with.  It is a 
modification to the last section in the "Getting started with the management 
system" page in the user's manual.
