The main item is Sayma v2 support.

Yes, the poor quality of conda, which makes it frustratingly difficult
to upgrade Python.

[ARTIQ] ARTIQ 5 release timeline?

2019-09-12 Thread Andrew Risinger via ARTIQ
Is there a timeline for the release of ARTIQ 5? I'm looking forward to
using Python 3.6+ features (f-strings, simpler asyncio code, etc), but it's
hard to move to those when our main environment is stuck on ARTIQ 4/Conda
for stability, and using those features breaks backward compatibility. I
know the `master` branch of ARTIQ already supports Python3.6+ (on Nix
only), but no releases.

Also, is there any reason that the conda builds only still support python
>=3.5.3 <3.6, when Nix supports python 3.7?
