Re: [Assam] [Iepgraduates-list] New Harvard President

Now if I were to take the Harvard test on Implicit Bias (designed by Harvard
prof from India Prof. Ms Mahazarin Banaji of Hyderabad) I might have a better
response in relating women to professional terms --like President...

  What do you think.

PS: In the last time I took the test
https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/demo/index.jsp
I was told that I strongly associated career, professionalism with men and
family and caring with women. Mayhbe it was becos most professionals (CEOs,
managers, executives are men) and caring, nursing people are women --today. Its
a catch 22 situation perhaps. Just like many associating (stronlgy) violence
with Osama and muslims - in todays world -- or with Hitler and Germans in the
past century.

  Dear all,

With the appointment of Drew Gilpin Faust as Harvard's 28th President we are
witness to a change of great significance in the history of this University and
of Higher Education. That the best candidate for this job was recognized to be
a woman. This appointment of the first woman ever to be selected to lead this
University should remind all of us that positive social change, albeit often
slow in coming, is possible. May this inspire all of us as we continue to
expand educational opportunity around the world.
