[Asterisk-Users] background music...

2005-12-15 Thread Esteban Maestre
Hi, list!
I have a strange problem.
I already tried to get help from the lsit, but I hadn't luck enough...
This is the scenario: a GSM mobile phone calls to asterisk. After
answering, if asterisk plays background music, when the caller speaks, the
music becomes unhearable, too noise, it's not possible to distinguish it
from noise. I don't know how to handle this. I've tried several codecs por
playing the music, but i don't manage... I want the music to be hearable
even if the caller speaks...
Did anyone have a similar problem? Can anyone help me?

thanks

Hello, Rusty!

Thanks for your reply... You have been the only one ;)

Hahaha, it could become dangerous... ;)

Well, I have been investigating it a little bit, and I guess the main
reason is something related to what you have pointed in the first
paragraph.
I've found some interesting information here:

http://www.privateline.com/PCS/GSM08.html

There is an interesting article I've already tried to post, but toy can
find it easily in the www above.

I don't think you'd want to hear most of what I say when I am on hold,
especially if I am on hold with a telephone company! It tends to be
 somewhat
 on the profane side. *grin*

  Hi all!

I have a strange problem when using asterisk. I have configured
asterisk to receive calls (FX0). In my configuration, I want asterisk
to play music while I record the caller's speech.

[Asterisk-Users] sound problem, please help!

2005-11-25 Thread Esteban Maestre
Hi all!

I have a strange problem when using asterisk. I have configured asterisk
to receive calls (FX0). In my configuration, I want asterisk to play music
while I record the caller's speech. If the caller does the call from a
fixed line telephone, there is no problem, but in case the caller does the
call from a mobile GSM phone, the quality of the music he hears becomes so
bad, and even more when he speaks.
I have tried several codecs.
Any idea or advice?

thanks in advance,

-esteban-

[Asterisk-Users] calling to asterisk and listening to music (GSM) --Anyone, please?????

2005-11-17 Thread Esteban Maestre
 Hi all!

I'm trying to play some music from asterisk, and when I call to the PBX
from a GSM mobile phone, the more I speak while hearing the music, the
worst is the quality of the music I hear... My audio is at 8Khz,
 16bits/sample.

I've tried different codecs for asterisk, but results are the same...

If I call to the PBX from a conventional phone, I can speak while hearing
the music, with no quality loss...

Any idea? Does it have anything with the mobile-GSM standard used for
 coding?

 What to do?

 thanks,

 -e
