[Asterisk-Users] [is this appropriate?] Anyone work for voicepulse or have experience with them
I hope this is appropriate for this list. I'm guessing that responses should probably be sent directly to me? (off-list) We're looking at voicepulse (www.voicepulse.com) because they seem to be offering the exact service we want ... they claim to be asterisk friendly... but I'm a little concerned because I have questions I'd like to ask, and there's NO way to contact them (that I can find). So, I'm wondering if anyone has dealt with these folks yet, who, or if there's a rep for them subscribed to this list who I could ask a few questions.

[Asterisk-Users] TDM PCI master abort error
I'm getting an TDM PCI master abort error that takes up the hole screen and locks the pc up any clue??? - Original Message - From: Steven Critchfield [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, May 19, 2004 1:29 PM Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] Asterisk External Ringing On Wed, 2004-05-19 at 11:37, Paul Tyreman wrote: Hi, When I installed my X100P card there was a two ring delay before the phone started to ring. I managed to solve that by stopping the Caller Line ID being passed to the phone. I'm in the UK so that doesn't matter anyway. The problem that I have now is that when a call comes in on the external phone line and it is answered by a standard phone (not connected to Asterisk), the IP Phones that are connected to it ring for another two rings. This is very irritating especially if the call is answered on a standard phone in the same room as an IP Phone. Is there anything that can be done to fix this problem ? Yes, quit using the analog phone on the same line as the X100P. If you want to use an analog phone, get a analog FXS card and attach to it. -- Steven Critchfield [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users

Re: [Asterisk-Users] WI FI IP phones??
Well there's alot to think about and research thanks. On Fri, 2004-05-07 at 22:44, Jonathan Moore wrote: Not sure if my other message got through. Wifi limitations with voip are a function of # of concurrent active calls per access point (in addtion to which codecs used). A single floor of the hospital might have many many access points. If you just need a way to contact nurses on call, my guess is you would never have all 30 phones active at once. This would be in your favor, since just having a phone on and in standby is not going to eat up much bandwidth. Howeve since peoples lives may be on the line the network would need to be really well engineered and coverage would need to be designed with concurrent calls in mind rather than the usual testing for signal strength. In addition to the generel active calls/AP issue there are protocols like SVP, Spectra Link Protocol, that provide for some type of quality of service for Wifi. I don't really recomend Spectra link, mainly because they wanted a $5000 commitment just to demo their product. There is a qos spec for qos on wifi in the works, this won't magically make you able to have more calls per AP, but it might help calls in session from being starved out. I am pretty sure that what you want to do can be done at least with the Spectra stuff, since I have talked to tech director of a new middle school that is using this for their phone system. Every classroom teacher has one of these and I think most of the other phone users in the building. Another little trick floating around is for the Linksys APs. Again not necessarily recommending but there are custom firmware images (since they run Linux) that provide QOS, I think there may even be an image with a builtin SIP proxy. -- James Moran [EMAIL PROTECTED] Potential Technologies ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users

The life safety/support equipment is most likely not certified to be resistant to 2.4Ghz interference. It's been a while since I looked up ISM allocations but, I can tell you that I've seen many good ideas shot down because of the potential to interfere with the medical equipment.
