Re: [Asterisk-Users] FW: Getting PHP Config to work?
C. Tomlinson wrote: I have been doing various testing with asterisk and its been going great. However I am a bit feedup of using vi for editing configs, and would rather do it from any machine on my LAN. Look at WinSCP: http://www.winscp.org/ which is a lovely program that initially purports to provide easier file transfer, but which has some very useful tricks up its sleeve - including editing remote files in place. It is (almost) worth installing Windows just to be able to use it. :-) If anyone knows of anything similar that runs under Linux please enlighten me! Re: [Asterisk-Users] Aastra 480i and Telnet - anyone know how to log in?
Philip Trauring wrote: I noticed that the Aastra 480i has a telnet interface, but the login is different than the web. Anyone know how to log into the telnet interface? Is the interface documented anywhere? You need to use a telnet client program to communicate with the device. Under Windows you simply open a command window and type: telnet IP address or hostname to connect to the telnet server (the device you want to communicate with). BTW if you type telnet into Google you get a good explanation of what telnet is, also links to better telnet clients than the standard Windows one (though it should work fine for what you want). Re: [Asterisk-Users] How to monitor externip automatically?
Have you considered one of the dynamic DNS services, (e.g. http://www.dyndns.org/services/dyndns/)? Looking through the Wiki it seems that there is no requirement to use an actual IP address for externip=, in fact I found one posting that explicitly discouraged their use. Richard Thor Atle Rustad wrote: Hello list, I am behind a NAT router and therefore need to have externip= in sip.conf. Whenever the isp resets its DHCP server, I have to change the setting in order to make Asterisk work. Is there a way to make Asterisk get the external ip automatically in case I am able to do it from wherever I am?
