Re: [Asterisk-Users] voice pulse connect - no dtmf
I saw the same thing. Filed a support ticket with Voice Pulse Connect and they cleared it up within an hour. Com" Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Hi, I've got bunch of VP connect lines, and a day back two LA area numbers stop sending DTMF. They are IAX2. So, simply my customers can dial in, it hit my IVR but when they punch-in the number, my * running 1.0.7 cannot identify the dtmf. IAX debug does not show dtmf being sent to me. Just want to know whether any of you had this experience, and if so how that was fixed. Funny thing is this happened on two dids and others are OK. [Asterisk-Users] Wildcard X100P or TDM400P?
I'm looking to add a single FXO port to my Asterisk box. It looks like my options are a Digium Wildcard X100P off eBay for $6.99, or a Wildcard TDM400P with an FXO Module from Digium for $125. Can anyone explain the tradeoffs (other than the ability to put 4 FXO/FSO modules on the TDM400P). What about RTC for the system - I know the TDM400P provides it. Does the X100P? [Asterisk-Users] Astricon 2004 tutorials available?
Does anyone know if the tutorial materials from Atricon 2004 are available for download anywhere? I'm particularly interested in Joachim Vanheuverzwijn's Performance and Scalability tutorial slides (Asterisk - building your system for performance and scalability). [Asterisk-Users] Server Criteria
I've been doing a lot of background reading/searching of this list, voip-info.org, and Google, looking to define a good candidate for a server platform. I'm very interested in thoughts from others! So here goes... Axiom 1: if you are not doing doing much transcoding (converting between codecs), the bottleneck for supporting high volumes of simultaneous calls is system bus speed, not CPU power ---> points to a 64 bit AMD Opteron system, and maybe just one of the two processor slots populated. Bus is twice as wide as a 32 bit system, and operates at 1.8GHz (a lot faster than a 64 bit Zeon system). Then add the second processor to the board if you see you need it. Axiom 2: Get lots of memory ---> I haven't seen this quantified, and plan to do some testing. I'll post results here, but can anyone share any insights? I'm planning to start at 2GB, and go up from there if I see swap getting used. - what would an alaw to alaw connection consume (if it didn't hand off)? - what about a 5 call alaw meetme bridge (and how much memory per incremental caller) Axiom 3: Don't allow any disk IO ---> I'm assuming this is related to #2 - get lots of memory to avoid swap to disk. Other issues or thoughts? Axoim 4: Come codecs will take advantage of the faster floating point of a 64 bit system ---> unknown... has anyone seen this? Will Asterisk, compiled in a 64 bit Linux environment, reap these or other benefits from being on a 64 bit system (other than the system bus speed)? Also, any experience with Asterisk on an Opteron out there? Any unexpected issues? How about card drivers? Thanks! I hope this spurs an interesting exchange of ideas that is of value to many. ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
[Asterisk-Users] Timer for MeetMe on Mac OS X

[Asterisk-Users] Trunked IAX or not
Has anyone benchmarked Asterisk on a dedicated single versus dual processor machine? http://www.astertest.com/ Cheers, Philipp The test results that Philipp pointed out show some protocol comparisons that include "iax2 trunking / alaw" and "iax2 / alaw" and concludes that "IAX2 trunking is more than twice as fast as non trunking IAX." Forgive the newbie question, but what is this distinction? In what cases is a connection 'trunking' or 'not'? If I have a "register =>" statement in my iax.conf file, is that a trunked connection to my DiD provider? [Asterisk-Users] Single or Dual Processor? High volume MeetMe
Has anyone benchmarked Asterisk on a dedicated single versus dual processor machine? Or could any Asterisk developers comment on whether it is architected in such a way that threads could run on multiple CPUs (especially MeetMe2)? At a higher level, can I host more simultaneous lines and/or conferences for MeetMe if I use a dual processor machine versus single? Also, any info on memory use with high numbers of conference users (100, 1000)? [Asterisk-Users] zaprtc from bristuff? not there?
I'm trying to take advice to use "zaprtc from bristuff" (from both a posting here and references on voip-info) because I have a 2.4 kernel SMP machine. I've downloaded and installed bristuff-0.2.0-RC3a and now have the modules zaphfc and zaptel loaded. Running meetme says the extension is invalid (I've double checked meetme.conf and extensions.conf). There is no zaprtc version in that bristuff package (I thought there would be based on other posts). Trying to load zaprtc 0.0.1 gives the same error as the standard asterisk distribution. Do I download something more recent than zaprtc 0.0.1? Can anyone tell me were (no luck googling)? Other insights? Thanks much!
