Depending on the usage and switch (not hub) this might even work without
seperation.

But if you have an switch that supports VLAN's and QoS and your VoIP
phone/ata supports VLAN's and QoS supports this, you can run it over one
cable.

> I have read about devices like Edgemark or Packeteer that

A packeteer sounds like some serious $$ to be spend, I'm guessing that
recabling might even be cheaper.

Why not try the following, there are plugs available that replace the
current RJ45 outlets, or plugin an normal outlet and split the cable in
2 times RJ45.

See http://www.datorhandel.com/se/products/679-F or
http://www.abccables.com/ca-003805.html for an example you would need 1
at both ends, or in the patchroom recable only on that side.

This will violate some specifications but depending on cable length and
other external influences this might work.

In the places I have seen this in place, it generaly works. Generally
I'm not a support of this, but if recabling is impossible or to
expensive it might be a solution. It's doesn't make the patch rack look
any prettier.. ;-)

Although never worked with the X100P, it's an analogue card, and afaik
callerid on an analogue KPN line still requires a subscription. Just to
avoid the obvious, you have a subscribtion for that?

That depends on the driver, do you use chan_capi or junghanns bristuff
for the eicon?

P.S. That you where dutch I figured out, but looking at i2rs.nl you
deliver services so it could have been in germany or so... ;-) Never

What ISDN card do you have? It sounds like a quadbri, and that your in
the netherlands, so am I. That leaves one question is it directly
connected to a kpn line or via an other pbx/pabx?

If not, you could use this as your /etc/zaptel.conf
[EMAIL PROTECTED] etc]# cat zaptel.conf | grep -v "^#"
loadzone = nl
defaultzone=nl
span=1,0,3,ccs,ami
span=2,0,3,ccs,ami
span=3,0,3,ccs,ami
span=4,0,3,ccs,ami

bchan=1,2
dchan=3
bchan=4,5
dchan=6
bchan=7,8
dchan=9
bchan=10,11
dchan=12

For zapata.conf:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] asterisk]# cat zapata.conf | grep -v "^#"
[channels]
switchtype = euroisdn
pridialplan = dynamic
prilocaldialplan = unknown
nationalprefix = 0
internationalprefix = 00
musiconhold=default
echocancel = yes
echocancelwhenbridged = yes
echotraining = 100
signalling = bri_cpe_ptmp
context=pstn-inbound
group = 1
channel => 1-2
signalling = bri_net_ptmp
context=isdn-inbound
group = 2
channel => 4-5
signalling = bri_net_ptmp
context=isdn-inbound
group = 3
channel => 7-8

Where port 1 is the KPN line and port 2 through 4 are internal isdn
lines where the card is acting as the network side.

The dial statements in use here:
[pstn-outbound]
exten => _0.,1,SetCallerID(${EDN_MAIN:1})
exten => _0.,2,Dial(${ZAP_MAIN}${EXTEN:1},120)
exten => _0.,3,Macro(dial-result)

Where the variables are:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] includes]# grep -e EDN_MAIN -e ZAP_MAIN ../extensions.conf
EDN_MAIN=
ZAP_MAIN=Zap/g1/

This works, at least here, notice the g1 instead of 2 this allows
Asterisk to select on of the 2 channels.

Asterisk output of a successfull dial:
hn00pbx01*CLI>
-- Executing SetCallerID("SIP/SJCC7960-3ed1", "") in new stack
-- Executing Dial("SIP/SJCC7960-3ed1", "Zap/g1/|120") in new stack
-- Requested transfer capability: 0x00 - SPEECH
-- Called g1/
-- Zap/1-1 is ringing
-- Zap/1-1 answered SIP/SJCC7960-3ed1
-- Hungup 'Zap/1-1'
== Spawn extension (int-inbound, 00646142645, 2) exited non-zero on
'SIP/SJCC7960-3ed1'

FYI: when starting to mess with outgoing and incoming MSN, in asterisk
you need the full number ie: 0207712345 but for the outgoing channel you
need it without the 0, so 207712345 otherwise KPN won't accept it.

Good luck

This is what I came up with: (Watch out for linewraps on the second line.)

; Incoming on normal line
; Incoming on normal line
exten => ${EDN_MAIN},1,LookupCIDName(${CALLERIDNUM})
exten => ${EDN_MAIN},2,GotoIf($[$["${CALLERIDNUM}" = ""] |
$["${CALLERIDNUM}" = "CID withheld"]]?5:3)
exten => ${EDN_MAIN},3,SetCIDNum(9${CALLERIDNUM})
exten => ${EDN_MAIN},4,SetVar(__NETWORK=KPN-Prive)
exten => ${EDN_MAIN},5,Goto(int-dest,${EDN_MAIN},1)

Well, I found the specs on the KPN Site:
http://www.kpn.com/kpn/show/id=362543/sc=656f2e

And basicly the command for smsq is:
/usr/sbin/smsq --motx-channel="Zap/g1/067364"

It also works with chan_capi btw. Receiving is done by:
[pstn-inbound]
; SMS
exten => ${EDN_FAX}/06736400,1,Goto(s-sms-inbound,${EXTEN},1)
exten => ${EDN_WORK}/06736400,1,Goto(s-sms-inbound,${EXTEN},1)
exten => ${EDN_DIAL}/06736400,1,Goto(s-sms-inbound,${EXTEN},1)
exten => ${EDN_MAIN}/06736400,1,Goto(s-sms-inbound,${EXTEN},1)

Then s-sms-inbound contains:
[s-sms-inbound]
exten => _X.,1,NoOp(Receiving SMS from ${CALLERIDNUM})
exten => _X.,2,Answer
exten => _X.,3,Wait(1)
exten => _X.,4,SMS(incoming|a)
exten => _X.,5,System(/usr/local/AstSMSHandler/SMS2Email.pl -q)
exten => _X.,6,Hangup

And works well, btw only as mentioned the sending of the sms sometimes
failes.

[Asterisk-Users] SMS Handler in Asterisk

2005-07-10 Thread Stijn Jonker
Hello all,

Recently I migrated all telephony in my house to asterisk thanks to the
Asterisk, QuadBRI which works wonderfully well. Some small tweaks to
make but that's on the long list.

On the short list is the ability to reliable send and receive SMS.

For SMS I already built a script email2sms, but sometimes the SMS
doesn't get send from some reason, the sms log then reports something like:
2005-07-03T07:56:29 ?OM0C 0 -

Everytime the Second field contains a ? instead of a Y the sending
failed, but asterisk doesn't retry. Next to this, no error in the logs.

Am I doing something wrong, or is there an additional app that can fix
this/monitors logs and does retries or so?

Thanks in advance.

After re-reading the comments in the callerid pages, I saw a remark in
regards to setting pridialplan & prilocaldialplan to unknown to get
caller id working in italie.

It turned out to get outbound callerid working with (quadbri) kpn isdn
bri line prilocaldialplan needs to be set to unknown. It was at local.

I'm still trying to find out what the diffrence is, but at least it works.

If the avm Fritz is connected via zapata (zaphfc) could you share the
configuration of zapata and the callerpres, setcallerid in the dialplan?

[Asterisk-Users] QuadBRI: How to set the outgoing callerid (KPN - NL)

2005-06-20 Thread Stijn Jonker
Hello all,

Recently I purchased an QuadBRI card from junghanns.net after some
playing around, reconfiguring dialplans etc with the exception of 1
thing everything seems to work:

I seem to be unable to set the outbound callerid. The dutch telecom
operator (KPN) provided me with 4 MSN's on 1 BRI interface. In the past
years I'm more then used to setting the MSN without the leading 0, this
always worked fine.

With the QuadBRI this didn't work, added the 0, messed around with
CallingPres, SetCallerPres and the various callerid and usecallerpres
values in zapata.conf. (Off course found via google, mailinglist,
voip-info etc) All calls resulting to be presented at the far end with
the network default caller id.

I'm lost, can somebody provide some assistance, attached is an output of
bri debug span 1 (this due to line wraps..)

But I think this is the network returning my error:
"Ext: 1 Cause: Invalid information element contents (100), class =
Protocol Error (6)"

My zapata is short, but as said the various caller id options have
passed through this file ;-)
zapata.conf:
--
[channels]
switchtype = euroisdn
pridialplan = dynamic
prilocaldialplan = local
nationalprefix = 0
internationalprefix = 00
musiconhold=default
echocancel = yes
echocancelwhenbridged = no
echotraining = 100
;-
signalling = bri_cpe_ptmp
context=pstn-inbound
group = 1
channel => 1-2
;-
signalling = bri_net_ptmp
context=isdn-inbound
group = 2
channel => 4-5

Part of dialplan:
--
exten => _0.,1,SetCallerID(${EDN_MAIN:1})
exten => _0.,2,Dial(${ZAP_MAIN}${EXTEN:1},30)
exten => _0.,3,Macro(dial-result)

exten => _9.,1,SetCallerID(${EDN_WORK:1})
exten => _9.,2,Dial(${ZAP_MAIN}${EXTEN:1},30)
exten => _9.,3,Macro(dial-result)

Variables:
-
ZAP_MAIN=Zap/g1/
EDN_MAIN=022929XXX0
EDN_WORK=022927XXX7

The 022929XXX0 is the "default" msn, even if i try to set this
explicitly it gets rejected with the network message as mentioned above.
(But because it's default all calls will originate with 22929XXX0)

If more info is needed don't hesitate to ask for it I'm kind of lost on
what to provide.

Thanks in advance.
