I'm not sure if you can use a .call file. I am not sure you can use ZapRas to call out on a CAPI channel. I am sure the suggestion I was making in the quoted message was to get a .call file dropped off to use ZapRas to dial the ISP. You will probably be unable to use PPP while asterisk has access to the ISDN adapter. Re: [Asterisk-Users] EuroISDN BRI 2 or 4 wires?
On Wed, Jan 12, 2005 at 11:06:18PM +0100, Remco Barende wrote: Hi List! Have a weird problem with ISDN in The Netherlands. The line that is coming in from the telco is 2 wires. The line is connected to an NT1 using the middle pair of a UTP connector. So far sop good. The incomming 2 wires are called UK0 here in Germany and they are connected to the NT1 or NTBA. However, the outgoing ports on the NT1, should they be wired with 2 wires or 4 (2 pairs)? The outgoing Line from the NT1/NTBA is a 4 wire (2pairs) bus called S0. If I use a 4 wire cable and stick it in the NT1 I get 0 voltage on the middle 2 wires, but i get approx 4 volts on the left 2 wires and another 40 volts on the outer (right) 2 wires. Is it correct that 2 pairs should be used to connect ISDN devices? Yepp, if you can read german have a look at www.kabelfaq.de . There is a well explained overview about isdn. Sorry for this slightly offtopic issue. The house is fully wired for one pair which means I may have a problem if i need 2 pairs. Thanks! Hi List I recently got one of those boxes (without wlan). Works as ata device with my local asterisk. Just tested the basic stuff like call the box and make call from the box. It uses sip with alaw/ulaw/g726 codecs. Runs on linux, kernel 2.4.17, mipsel. HardWare: -wan (UR2/annexB) -ethernet (10/100) -usb (usb-net) -3 capicontrolers (avm-fcclassic) 1 for fxo, 2 for fxs -16MB flash with squashfs -4MB memory... SoftWare: -busybox -telnetd -webserver Connections: -wan (Modem on board) -lan -usb -fxo (isdn or anlog) -2fxs Nice box maybe one day someone replaces the avm-software with asterisk! It could be that there is a code like *55(MY_MSN)# to prefix the call. But I'am not shure if euroISDN has such thing. Perhaps I'am totaly wrong?? It works with i4l, capi why not having the choice with zaphfc? :) Of course you have to set MyMSN to your MSN. They like to sell the 2port and 4port card, which are significant more expensive. May be this is the reason for this limitation that the Fritz driver supports only one card.
