Re: [asterisk-users] Requirement of DAHDI

2013-06-08 Thread luke devon
Hi David ,

Thank you for the reply .
I need to use only the IVR functions for mobile users and they are landing to
the Asterisk server via SIP.
Hence , please help me to understand , I really do not need the other modules
other than Asterisk core ?

I am so sorry , As I am new to Asterisk , I am not familiar with MeetMe and
ConfBride yet.

Many Thanks
Luke

You do not require DAHDI Linux or Tools if you do not have any TDM devices
unless you want to use MeetMe instead of ConfBridge.

1)  I’m sure it’s
possible, it’s just a matter of talking to the mobile network in question and
finding out what kind of options they have available.

2/3) Once asterisk gets
the call, it can redirect it to just about any endpoint you’d like it to.
For more information on asterisk’s IVR capabilities, I suggest starting here:
http://www.asteriskdocs.org/en/3rd_Edition/asterisk-book-html-chunk/asterisk-IVR.html

What modules you’ll need
will vary depending on how asterisk is connected to the PTSN and to the
external IVR application.

‘Do we need to install
complete Asterisk’?  I guess this depends on your definition of
‘complete’.  My advice to you as a start/test would be to install asterisk
and all the sample configurations and then start playing around with
connections.

Hi

I have installed asterisk completely in a CentOS 6.4 and it is working as I
wished. (I could use a soft phone perform some testing.)

I have some third party IVR application to be connected with this new Asterisk
platform .

How can I connect the asterisk with such third party IVR (Voice XML) systems ?
Could you please guide me ?

Thanks in Advance

Hi Longst,

Sorry if I am leading my question in to meaningless.

Let me explain my requirement . I don't think this something new to forum.

Supposed I have setup an Asterisk box as a IVR.I want to get the traffic via
and telecom / mobile operator.
Meaning , for instance mobile user dial a IVR code it should come to my
Asterisk IVR BOX.

Generally how do we capture traffic ? If operator uses singtran or some kind of
IPbased system , can they directly route traffic to Asterisk box ?

Thanks in Advance
