Re: [asterisk-users] Asterisk crashed

2013-03-08 Thread Zohair Raza
Thank you both

Matthew, I can not do that because core file is not available

Bharat is right, the file was not written because of abrt's issue

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=768149

I am turning it off now, I hope asterisk won't crash again but in any case
if it does I will have a core dump because it is started with safe_asterisk

Thanks again

Normally if you are getting a segfault, that's a good reason to file a bug
report. However...

I use the following drives and asterisk:
 Asterisk 1.6.2.12

Using an old, unsupported version of Asterisk means that approach would
probably be fruitless.
I'd recommend you consider upgrading to either 1.8 or 11 at this point. If you
absolutely must
stick with 1.6.2 for whatever reason, then you can use 1.8 on a test system to
see if you can reproduce
your problem and if you can, file a bug report against that and hope the patch
either translates
well to 1.6.2 without much intervention or you could attempt to backport it
yourself if it doesn't.

Good luck with your problem.

Few things:

1. Don't crosspost
2. Recompile Asterisk with DONT_OPTIMIZE
3. Looks like the crash was in AGI - check your AGI files
4. Submit a bug to bugs.digium.com if the problem is not in your AGI

Don't bother. If the version of asterisk the crash ocurred in isn't the latest,
the moderators will close the bug.

[Asterisk-Users] Asterisk crashed?

2005-09-07 Thread Arik Funke

Hi,

I am running Asterisk in production mode but unfortunately every few
days or so, it crashes, presumably...

Presumably because, when the phones stop working and I look for the
cause, asterisk is no longer running. Asterisk logs and
/var/log/messages contain no hints at all.

How can I get mode info on such unpredicable crashes?

Thanks in advance,
Arik

Which version of * are you using? I had a problem with 1.0.7 crashing
unexplainably at one point, but 1.0.9 was out then and I upgraded and
it stopped.
