Hi all!

Everybody was talking about bandwidth consumption of the codecs but I have one doubt about it.
I prepared an Asterisk box with a TDM20B and a X100P (two FXS and one FXO). Last week I traveled and carried my notebook so I could dial to a local ISP and then connect to my asterisk box to make local calls.
On the hotel, the quality of the phone line was terrible and the maxium connection speed I made was 26.4k. Even with the bad connection I connected with my asterisk box and then made a call and the quality was good. The client I used was the IAX Phone that uses the GSM codec (as said at the web page).
Any explanations? This is bothering me because I have to decide how many clients a DSL (256/128) connection can support and if I take the measures I can put a maximum of 3 (since its 35k with the GSM codec) and if I use my tests I could use almost 5. What should I do? Help me. :-)

Thanks a lot in advance,

Joel Moraes
