Ronald, it's the context listed in voicemail.conf (I got caught on this as well) I really wish Asterisk was better documented; it's bullshit the way it stands at the moment. Re: [Asterisk-Users] Grandstream Bugetone 101 mwi
[EMAIL PROTECTED] It occurs to me, do you have the numbered extension set the same as the context name for the phone in sip.conf? For example, in my sip.conf, the context names for each phone are [7001], [7002] etc. However, this doesn't necessarily need to be true. If it's not true, try: mailbox=context name in sip.conf instead. so for example, if the extension is 7123, but the context name for the phone in sip.conf is fred, try: mailbox=fred Just a shot in the dark Paul ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users

RE: [Asterisk-Users] Grandstream Bugetone 101 mwi
Brian, Whilst I don't have the technical skills to document Asterisk I do have the money to fund it. I offered a bounty of $200 for someone to write a 1 page 'how to' document to install AMP (since rescinded). I only had 3 people ever contact me and no one actually followed through with the documentation even though 2 people said they would work on it over the weekend (approx 2 months ago now). In addition I currently have a $2,000 bounty for a video version of Meetme and haven't had a single person even reply to take up the challenge. How much more encouragement do you need? How much more encouragement do you need? One of the hardest things for traditional enterprise types to understand about Open Source is that the methodology seems to run counter to the notion that everyone has his price. OS programmers tend to be more motivated by the intrinsic interestingness of a given piece of functionality than by someone else waving $$ in front of their eyes. This tendency seems verified by your complaint. Hopefully soon the wider capitalistic market will kick into gear, and the possibility of selling a lot of books will motivate people to write the documentation that you seek. In the interim, no amount of criticism of the Asterisk community (such as the remark that elicited my initial response) is likely to get you much beyond being in people's doghouses for your lack of tact. I know of several such efforts that are currently underway. The results should start becoming available in the near future.
